View Full Version : Turbo timer + factory alarm
Is there anyway to bypass the feature of the factory alarm that makes it not lock the doors with remote/be able to be armed while the car is still running?
It sucks to have the turbo timer running and have to hang around for that to finish and shut the car off before locking the doors and arming the alarm.
I don't wanna install an aftermarket alarm. :(

There's a couple threads from way back on how to do this, but here is the jist of them:
>>Pop off the rear deck, cut a blue/white wire, and tape it up (not connecting it to anything).<<
Here (http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46506&highlight=cut+wire+rear+deck) is the thread I got this from. I've had it done for almost 3 years without any problems.
Wait, this doesn't let me arm the alarm as well?

yes it lets you arm the alarm even when the car is running now.
what you need to do is go to the rear deck, find the keyless module, cut the blue-white wire. then go up to the alarm brain up front, take off the middle harness, look for the pin6 wire (orange) and cut it. tape up all the ends that you cut to prevent grounding, and voila.
