Completely stock will attract the most buyers.

not if youre trying to appeal to a younger market. putting an intake on there to amplify the turkey is a great idea. its shiny, makes cool noises, and people love that. the average buyer for a mazdaspeed is not gonna be an average joe. people who buy them should already have a certain appreciation for cars n what not. the name alone excludes the car from everything else.
make sure when trying to sell you let people know its very rare. what was the number of spicy's? 600 or so right? thats another good thing going for ya there. good luck w/the sale.

I noticed that the stock air filter had a couple sensor ports... does this intake have them? Do I have to create my own? Will there be a check engine light if those sensors are not installed?

the injen has spots for all the sensors and even without them installed no you will not throw a CEL

yea injen is a really good company and they definitely did a good job making this intake. youve got everything you need. altho the instructions arent as clear as some would like. but hey it was my first mod and i did it just fine.

i am sporting a Injen CAI without the second pipe so my filter is right next to the fuse box... real simple like nothing special tho! it works fine no problems here

why? i dont see how short ram intakes help at all. they just suck hot air right off the engine.

Throttle response. The longer it takes for the air to reach the throttle body or turbo inlet in this case the laggier the car will be. Like a straw in a your drink, the longer the straw the longer it takes for the fluid to reach you, and the harder you have to work to get it. It's more noticable on N/A vehicles where they lack a hairdrying sucking in air. I've proved this in trial and error on my cars and friends, hell even my fathers truck. Intakes are probably one of the most overated and misunderstood mods on the market available.
I forget who it was, Weopon-R I believe but don't quote me, did a comparison of all of the intakes on the market (cold-air and short-ram) and tested the horsepower gained and 1/4 mile et with trap speed. It was one of their advertisements. Cold air intakes yielded 1-2 horespower more but were actually slower in the 1320. Everyone thinks because the filter sits in the ambiant air that it will make more power.
Your best bet would be to use a short-ram intake with a heatshield barrier and run a direct feed of cold air via dryer ducting or the like. If your really anal you can wrap the pipe to try and battle against heatsoaking IC pipes. I know it sounds ghetto, but it works. Form follows funtion.

I need both eye candy and ear candy... haven't decided 100%. Thinking short ram intake because people like to see things easier. Which intake will make the stock BOV or BPV sound louder?
