Okay, one night I'm driving and all of a sudden my power steering belt breaks off. The very next day the AC messes up as well. The fan still blows but it only blows hot air. I figured that since the power steering belt runs the AC all I'd had to do was get a new belt put on. The power steering works fine now but the AC still doesn't work like it should, anybody here have any idea what the problem would be?

Sounds like it, but wouldn't that burn the new belt as soon as it was installed? Or does the clutch work independently?

First off check your a/c fuses to make sure they are all good.If all the fuses are good, turn the a/c on and go look at your compressor. See if the clutch is turning on and off like it should. If your clutch isn't functioning and all the fuses are good you are most likely low on r-134. But since your belt broke off it would seem to me something seized up. So like i said start with the fuses first.

After the belt broke off the AC worked fine for a day then just stopped working. When I got the belt replaced, the air the AC blows is even hotter than the air it was blowing when the belt wasn't on. If it is the compressor, how much would it cost to get it fixed?

turn ur ac on and drive around for a bit and check to see if your ac lines are cold/getting cold and have condensation and what not on them, its ur compressor if they are just hot with no moisture, and i dont know how much a new compressor is....call the DEALER MUHAHAHAHAHA

I also lost the manual for my protege so could someone tell me where the fuse box is located and which one is the AC fuse?

this happened to me just before my stock radiator cracked. check your engine temp. if your radiator is failing you will get this symptom. replaced my radiator with an awr and a/c started blowing cold again.
