I am just wondering how much shifter movement in an 03 MSP is normal. I am paranoid about this because recently I was moving someone and had a few things in my trunk and the transmision was popping almost out of gear in all the gears. Unloaded and it has been fine.

Like he said, you may have one (or more) morormount that broke. Get them checked.

that's what I was thiking when I read it, with a loaded car 4-5 people I used to see the shifter move around a lot while accelerating and slowing down but after I installed the motor mounts it's steady now. It used to look like the car was going to come out of gear like you say.

Thats what I was thinking. By movement I mean when you accelerate it pushes the shifter back a good bit and when i let up it moves forward a good bit. I know some of it is normal. Also when I start it up and seems to rattle a little. So if I need new motormounts what should I get? I hear a lot of people saying the aftermarket ones make the interior rattle a lot and I definately don't want that. I can't stand rattles. Also can this be a do it in the garage kind of fix without any specialized tools. Thanks for all the help.
