Yes, you read correctly. I was getting on it and the BOV blew right off the cold pipe and the car cut off. The ring that holds the HKS wasnt broken, which I didnt understand how it could happen. But we got some needle nose pliers and put the snap ring back on and its fine now, even did some test runs.

im still kind of freaked out on how it couldve happened. i would feel a lot better if the ring broke but it didnt, and it would take a lot to make that ring fly off, i hope everything "internally" is okay

that happens when you don't get the snapring in all the way,or you but the snapring in upsidedown.

when you do,the beveled side of the snapring goes out.

what side is that, the "unsmooth" side?

i did the same thing with my ssqv. didnt have the c clamp all the way inside the groove, it was just resting in the top lip. went for a test drive and first time it saw boost it popped off. of all places to hit the underside of the hood it hit right where there was no fire retardant padding. so i got a lil ding to remind me how to properly seat c clamps

one side has a rolled look to it,the other side has a cut finish.
the beveled side is the rolled or "smooth" side.
