I just replaced the stock system, see "Radio Replacement....." thread. The only issues I see with that is that your dash will seem a bit empty, and you'll have a hard time interfacing with the Bose system.

I want to install a mac. mini in my cx-7 but still afraid of cutting wires/prying the dash open, but check out the link below:

I want to see what Mazda comes out with after that statement they released earlier this month as far as Ipod connectivity goes, although I have about 90gigs worth of MP3's so unless they come out with a bigger Ipod a mac mini. might be the way to go.
