View Full Version : headlights gone wrong

hey all, im hoping for some help with a problem ive been having my 02 pr5. the headlights have a ridiculously short life span. one (or sometimes both) burn out in a matter of 6 months requiring multiple replacements each year. ive been rotating among the standard bulbs that autozone or one of those stores (unfortunately, theres usually only one brand at a time at these places so there is not much selection). does any one have any recommendations?

does any one have any recommendations?


1. Use the forum search tool to read the large number of other threads on this topic.

2. Check that no water can leak into the headlight, because if it does and the bulbs are on, then bye bye bulbs.

3. Never touch the glass on the bulbs with your fingers when installing them.

4. Turn the lights on after turning the the car on and off before turning the car off. If there is an electrical spike associated with either event this will take the bulbs out of the circuit so that they never see this spike. Plus it's free and in any case can't hurt anything.
