So my problem is exactly what this guy is having, except now my car isn't covered under warranty anymore. Where can I find these resistors and how will I know if they are bad?

I hope they aren't to hard to replace! ;)

i just replaced the blower resisitor. it is east to replace you remove the glove box. than it is 2 screws and a wire plug. takes less than 5 min. really though what is your problem. i will guess it is the a/c problem where the a/c only works in the 1 and 4 position this is common with the 02 protege?

exactly, except mine only works in the #4 postion. Im gonna have to look carefully at it to find out where these 2 screws are.

that is not your problem!!!!!!! you need to buy the HVAC head unit. i just went throught the same problem. i replaced the resisitor motor and nothing, changing the control unit was the fix (you can get it for 180 shipped from protegegarage.com but it's not listed on the website you gotta PM ken) it's not hard to replace either. if you decide to do it i will tell you how

Put the knob inbetween the numbers 2-3 will work fine then...I have been doing it for about a year and a half now.

not for everyone wouldn't work for me. anyway i want every button in my car to work the wat it is supposed to. and i would bet most feel the same

I just replaced my hvac controls. Id hope the person that sold it to me wouldn't have sold me a bum product.
