wondering if its possible to put an oil cooler in the spot where the smic is once I have installed a fmic, and if it would be a good idea

An oil cooler is always a good idea. Is it feasible, start by looking for a core about the size of the stock intercooler and go from there. If your not scared of piecing together your own kit, go for it. Let us know what you find, I'd be interested in this aswell.

if you call the thing where the oil filter goes an oil cooler...
i call it "oil heater" since usually water temps around that spot are higher than what the temp gauge reads...
we don't have oil coolers..

do you have any evidence that supports you needing an oil cooler? oil needs to be in a certain operating temp. Im pretty sure you are gonna need a tranny cooler before you need a bigger oil cooler//and ya im pretty sure the guys around here have pieced together a tranny cooler kit.

If you're worried about the OEM oil cooler not doing its job, upgrade your radiator. But like Jeff said, unless you have evidence your oil is too hot, you shouldn't be playing around.

I was talking about a tranny cooler
, I have heard about tranny trouble and I thought cooler temps would increase durability

fof that you would need a oil pump of some sort because oil in the tranny is not under pressure like the ATX oil...
it has to withstand high temps too...

My oil temps are well over the 250*F mark on road trips, or track sessions, etc. Mind you my coolant gets that hot, so the MSP oil cooler might not do me any good...
