Hooray for Shattered Glass!!!!!

Well the unexpected finally happened, I go to my car at 2 in the morning to find one of my small rear windows smashed out, my seat with my amp on it folded down and all my stuff flung about the car. I was pretty damn shocked especially since I live in a pretty nice area.

I'm guessing they were after money and/or my system cuz none of my CD's were stolen and I had about 50 in there. I'm just shocked and extremely pissed I've seen others post this kind of garbage and I was pretty confident, maybe a little too confident that this would not happen to me at least not in my own town less then 5min from where I live.

To top it all off they left a nice fist size dent right below the window in one of the panels. I've gotten an estimate to replace the glass and it's gonna cost me 230 bones plus I've got to get it re-tinted.

O yea and the cop who responded to the call was a jack hole he said there was nothing he could do, good luck with your insurance and if he sees my driving around without a front plate he's gonna pull me over.....YAY!!!!!!!!! (first)

you dont have any local window shops..i got quoted for like 230 bux also but that was for my passenger window when it got busted out...but i took it to a small local place and got it done for like 110 which was alot better...and i also had dents left in my door..but it was from there knees i think but yeah that sux dude

Yea apparently my dad has connections at one of the shops so I can probably get the price lowered... but it still sucks major

yeah they left my 2 cd's folders and all my audio in my car ..and only took my radar..

Had my driver side window busted before but NOTHING taken ... not even my radar detector. I figured it was some scared punk that just wanted to inflict damage ...

Anyway, I got mine fixed for $50 .. local junk yard and did the labor myself. Super easy but I was also super pissed about having my window busted!

Same thing happened to me last year. They look the change out of my ash tray and left all my audio equipment and school books.

you know....that seems like my next step...well close to it at least. ive had my windshield toothpasted, and my car cover all ripped up while on a vacation. but that sucks man...im sorry that happened to you

damn that sux. i feel ur pain, happened to me like a year ago. someone busted the window but didnt take anything luckily. left a good 1 1/2 inch slash on my interior door panel...samething with the police too, nothing they could do but say good luck with insurance(pissed) . and i live in a very quite, low crime area so my guess is it was just some punk kids with nothing better to do..

yea thanks all, I just talked to one of my buddies and he said he saw some shady guy walking down the street near my car like a half hour before I went to leave.... but since we live in a quiet low-crime area he didn't even think about it till it was too late. Man I would have loved to have rolled up on him while he was going through my stuff. (chair)

someone put a door ding in my car the other day... I was so pissed i shattered the window of the car parked next to me - was it them that did it to my car??? who the f cares

dude that sucks. I've had stuff stolen/vandalized before and I hate that feeling, even if it was just stupid shit like people throwing eggs at my car. i honestly want to go apeshit on anything/anyone around me. And I live in a nice pretty nice area too... but then again, i also spend 6 months a year living on campus going to a school that is practically 1/2 mile from the ghetto (flint-town michigan). First investment I ever put into my bright yellow p5 was some uber alarm system. I just let the tech guys go nuts at best buy. Took them the entire day to install. It's pretty sad, that was almost two years ago now, and they still remember my car.

What town was this in?
I had one of my cars broken into while I was at work in Hartford. Never again will I park on the street. They took everything. that was also the day that I really started cleaning out the interior of my cars, to make sure that I didn't leave anything out for them to be tempted with.
At my house, my wife and i park our cars in the back yard; partially because of the sap from a pine tree out front, and out of sight, out of mind. they can't steal what they don't know about.
