I am looking into getting a MSP. I really want one of the Laser Blue Mica ones. Why are these cars so hard to find? If i cant find one of those i will have to settle for the Titanium Grey MSP.

I flew from TN to Missouri to get my Spicy Orange, and drove 13 hours straight back. Suckage! Glad I did though.

^T3h suck. I went to Autotrader.com, saw that there was one at a dealership four miles away, called to verify it was still there, and told them I'd be there in ten minutes.
Turns out someone had been in earlier for the car, but decided to sleep on it (without putting anything down) and come back in the morning. I slid in like lightning, dropped $1500 (effectively jumping in front of t3h sleeper) and drove it away the next day.
What was wild was that as I was filling out the final paperwork the day I drove it home, t3h sleeper came in to get it. The look on the guy's face when he saw he was too late was priceless (and kinda sad...). The salesman took great pleasure in informing him that he had lost out; the sales guy had tried at length to get him to put a deposit down to hold the car, but t3h sleeper declined repeatedly...
AutoTrader is your best bet. Cars pop up on there all the time...

I cant really go a long way. I gotta work a lot now and stuff. I wish i could get a Laser Blue one, but i will probably just buy a local titanium one. Atleast I hope its a titanium one. Its hard to tell because theres a lot of snow in the picture. Is there a way to tell the color by looking at the VIN?

I believe less than 5,000 MSP's were built which is why they are tough to come by. Only about 500 Laser Blues were ever produced and at the final run of MSP's in 2003. I just checked autotrader and found 0 laser blue msp's. Keep searching though, maybe ebay will turn some up. Good luck!

If you're not in a huge hurry, you'll find one. I spent a few weeks looking and found mine with 8k miles on it on Autotrader. Of course, that was 2.5 yrs ago.
The story above reminded me about how I almost got the last Spicy left in NA. I checked with Mazda USA and there was one left, on a dealer lot in Houston. I called about it and the sales manager said that somebody came in a half hour before to test drive it. If he didn't buy it, it was mine. Well, he bought it. I was that close, and they only wanted 16k for it. I paid 16.9k slightly used for mine later on. Arrggghhh!
I had to troll for a while before I found my laser blue ... in Detroit :) They made 600 2003.5 laser blue MSP's - a little more rare than your average Civic, but hold out and one will pop up.

I passed a spicy today going the other way (hard to miss (first)) ... the guy didn't even notice my laser blue, but right now it's stripped down with no wing, no rear lip and 16" P5 wheels (under construction)(sad2)
My Spicy Orange one was at a dealership less than 5 minutes from my house. :) I happen to drive by on the way to work everyday, and all of the sudden they had one there. I guess I got lucky.

There are a few on autotrader, the only one i would really be willing to go and get would be one in Richmond, VA. They are really spread out tho. I wish I could get one. But oh well.

To find a MSP is easy, but to find the color you want is the hard part especially because they are limited production. I almost bought a Blazin Yellow, but I got the Titanium instead. Blue seems to be the most popular amongst the MSP's so it may take a while, but i'm something will come up.

I almost bought a Spicy last summer. Dealer had it on the used lot (and I'm good buds with the used car manager.) He was gonna let me have both the spicy and my car for 3 weeks to make the parts trades between cars, and I would give them my stock car and $7000. It had 18,000Kms and was stock. I'm kinda glad I didn't take the deal though, I love having a turbo P5 better than an MSP. It's faster lol!

yeah it took me a good month or two of searching to find mine. Thats after calling and rejecting certain ones (accidents, modded crazy etc.) to find the one I bought. Even then it took a 5 hr drive to go see. I must tell you though its worth it. I almost gave up on laser mica blue and went with my second fav. color the titanium grey. I just really didnt want T. Grey because one of my friends has it. just have to be patient

I'm on my second Laser Blue MSP...I guess I'm just lucky. I found the second one initially on Autotrader and later saw it was also on the forum. The problem is that it's the best color and nobody who has one wants to sell :)

I'm in no hurry to sell. I love my car. It's the family car (the only car we have) my wife and I drive it every day. I got it after Xmas 2003, there were 3 new blue MSP's in the county at that time. I was working for a mazda dealer and actually got fired for buying my car from a different mazda dealer. (my dealership refused to get me the car.) only time I've ever been fired and it was worth it. Like I said, I'm in no hurry to sell, so just let me know if your serious and we can discuss it, whenever. Good luck on your search.

Hey JD, almost 230WHP on 9psi is REALLY impressive. Whoever tuned it did a great job!

Thanks yeah it took him 2 days to tune LOL. Tony from XX tuning he did a great job, and came highly recomended.
i had actually been trying to buy a friends spicy orange for like 4 months. Got approved for the loan through capital one..but, they wanted every piece of paperwork signed and notarized..in the registered owners name..his wife. Made it tough because they live good 55 miles away, and schedules conflicted, then he got promoted and transfered stores so it made it harder. Something tells me he didnt really wanna sell it if he flaked out all the time. So I searched auto trader and found some for sale in every color. just more than I wanted to spend.
I bit the bullet, drove 50ish miles down to Irvine Mazda, saw the laser blue I saw on autotrader, haggled a bit, walked out on him twice before he gave me my deal I wanted. Im a salesman so naturally it was easy, and I knew he would call me back, so I didnt go to far:)
