I have conflicting info on this one so what I am going to do is order 1 of each of the following #'s and see what I get.

My EPC shows the MSP knob as
GA5R46030A MSRP-32.70 Website-26.16

My MSP parts catalog shows it as
000088C10 MSRP-55.30 Website-44.24

So I will order both and report on what I find out. I will have an answer @Fri. of this week.

the MSPs have port installed "mazdaspeed" shift knobs... the part # in the EPC shows the shift knob that the car was equiped with from the factory... in otherwords, its just a big black leather shift knob similar to the ones found in all the other 02.5+ ES/P5s (although it's not exactly the same thing)

no need to waste your time ordering that.... 0000-88-C10 is the correct part

If I am not mistaken though the 88-C10 is not a screw on knob. It is one of those annoying allen head set screw type knobs, so I just want to provide the most accurate info I can and let him make the decision on which one he wants,

the MSP *never* came with shift knobs that use stupid allen screws, they were all twist on knobs that work like the normal protege ones

the most accurate info you'll get for the MSP parts are on the DAG accessory parts lists, what's shown in the EPC are *only* parts that were installed from the factory... all the toys that came with the MSP were port installed... shift knob, pedals, stereo, turbo, wing, etc...

so in otherwords, getting GA5R-46-030A will simply mean you got a plain jane big black leather 626 shift knob that doesn't say anything on it

anyhow, AFAIK, 0000-88-C10 has been depleted... it is the 2003 MSP sparco shift knob... the one that says "mazdaspeed" on it with the ricey/cheap looking "R" in the shift pattern sticker is 0000-8R-C18, which is the 03.5 MSP shift knob

so how much?

Part# 00008RC18 MSRP-50.00 Website-40.00 Shipping-2.00 via USPS

It is a screw on type, I got it confused with the Sparco accessory knob we once had available.

How much for the Mazdaspeed Shift knob in the 03' models. They were the sparco shift knobs.

I will give Mazda a call and find out what I can do on these, I just want to verify my memory.

I just got off the phone with Mazda. The SPARCO knob is no longer available. The only one available is the "C18".

I found this 1 on eBay. It is a white teflon unfortunately! But is is only $9.99 + $6.99 for shipping and actually is threaded for a protege. Does anyone know if it is available in black? I can't seem to get this seller to respond to any questions! : (

I personally have never seen that one but I like it. As for colors you will have to wait for a response from the seller because I have never seen anything like that pffered by Mazda North America.

You can get the same one from me for 1.50 less including shipping as long as you don't mind USPS.

that seller of the white teflon knob makes knocks offs for literally any manual tranny car with a screw on knob. I don't know if the fucker banned me from buying from him (I did buy the white knob, a $16 mistake), but I can't find ANY of his postings anymore, and he's listed as an unregistered users now.

I actually don't mind the knob, but the POS didnt come with the mazdaspeed label. then I contacted him and he said oh I will mail it to you. sounds like a garage operation to me.

make sure you avoid him, unless you like cheap shit. or unless you enjoy kicking your own ass for making a mistake.
