View Full Version : I'm hesitant to buy an MS6 because of the short production run
I test drove an MS6 the other day and fell in love with it. It is everything I want out of a car, the perfect mix of sport and luxury.
I'm just worried that down the road parts/repairs are going to be expensive because they are only making the car for one year. I've been convincing myself that this won't be a problem because it probably shares most of its parts with the normal Mazda 6 and the CX-7.
What do you guys think?

The Speed6 will be in production for another year, the 2007 version will be out later this year.
i don't think you should have to worry about the production run and limited amount of parts. this engine is being used in the CX-7 and Mazdaspeed3. did you know mazda still produces OEM replacement parts for RX-7s? i don't think you should worry too much

Buy it. Plenty of parts around.

I'm not worried that there aren't going to be parts available, I'm worried that they are going to cost an arm and a leg.
But I think my rationalization is correct in that even though there won't be many MS6's, the same parts will be used in many other Mazda products.
Now I just need to sell my current car and get Mazda to give me a better deal :)
car companies are required by law to carry spare parts for long after their production run.
Get the best warranty you can afford and this becomes a non-issue. I have had 3 limited cars from Mazda now. 2001 Mp3 ( only 250 made for Canada), 2003.5 MSP( 600 made in orange 2003 model, 325 grey, and 325 yellow in 2003.5 model for canada) Parts have not be an issue at all. you may find that they are on back order sometimes but you will get them. Same thing goes for any Honda I've owned as well.
