FINALLY !!!
Wife and i just bought one today, made a deposit. firm offer, signed. just waiting for credit approval. After joining the original mazda.ca 5 forum, and all other forums and waiting for my Honda Element to be taken over lease and waited..
We went for shopping originally for a demo with 5500 km at a local ontario, canada dealer and the car was a little bit dirty and scratched inside.. a door dink...but then just curiously ask for a quote for the GT and wife was pleased with it.. and hence may be a week
We will have our new Mazda 5.

Congrats congrats! You only have a week to wait, that's not bad... I've waited 8 week so far and I have about 4 to go, ugh. You were eyeing it up for 2 years when it's only been out for one?
Make sure to update your profile (Car: and signature) ;)

Congrats, I just picked it up this week, dealer had it in stock. GT with AC, auto carbon grey. Love it. I think it's the best bang for the buck. Located in Montreal,

Cool. Mine was pretty barebone..! so definitely will need the rear step plate and others...may even consider extended warranty down the road..

There's a lot of good insight to the Extended Warranties, and why they not be such a great idea in this link below. These are all just opinions and thoughts though, you decide what's right for your car based upon how you'll use it.

A lot of us from the old mazda.ca forum were waiting for this car for around 6-9 months before release, trying to get any information we could out of Mazda. :)
I've had mine over a year now, and no regrets at all.

Me too! 1 year, 2 days to be exact. No regrets!! My list of desired improvements is long but not critical - they would just make a great car even better!!

Thanks for all the kind words, wife and i and 6 year old are all very excited. :D :D As promised, here is some pics of the new Mazda5 parked side by side by conincidence a Sienna. It does looks very similar as pointed out by some. A small project started this morning by cutting some speaker boxes carpet (kind of left over) and a template for future use. A link is available here with 19 pics at http://www.canadahobby.com/Mazda5/boytoys

BTW, feel free to use the template for cutting your own carpet. I am written down some dimensions so as to give you some scale to the actual size.

Puurty :)
I keep forgetting how small the 5 is until I either see it in person or next to another car. Just the shape automatically triggers one to picture a big bulkly minivan, but then it gets parked next to a regular compact car (or a big bulky minivan) and one instantly sees that's not the case.
