not holding proper boost

i just got my protege and i never got my ecu flashed i put a mbc on it to up the boost i had it up to 8 psi but now it only holds at 5 i tried turning the dial a half turn but it still only holds at 5 psi should i go get my ecu flashed. thank you

Sounds like a Vaccum leek or posible issue with the wastegate or wastegate actuator.
