I was looking for a more unique way of mounting a boost guage in my msp, i didnt want to go the piller mount route (a little too fast too furious for me lol)and mounting it on the steering wheel shroud blocked too much of the stock guages so this was my solution it took a little work but it was worth it in the end . tell me what you think of it . by the way the boost guage thats in there is not staying im putting in a silver face blitz guage when it finaly gets here ,the one thats in there was the only one i could find localy on a sunday.
the entire pod was hand fiberglassed and then i usded bondo to get the shape i was looking for. whole project took about 3 days sanding, painting , wet sanding and such

i see home made bezels coming out more & more often everyday, i guess from the lack of starting production on these from suppliers. Looks like you said screw waiting & it def paid off...looks very very clean...How much this project set you back?

also all that work why not dual?

I got the bezel from the junk yard so that and paint already had glass and bondo from my job so around 30$ bezel was only 9$ the rest was paint. i wouldrather spend a few extra $ on auto motive paint and primer than that pep boys crap ,not dual because i didnt feel the need to have much of anything else not going for the ricer look

I would never do this again. It took me over a month cause I have no skills and, if you don't know how to use it, bondo can be a real bitch to work with.

i just found these:

what do you guys think ?

http://www.prosportgauges.com/Perfor...uges-Amber.htm

rather than just have the single boost gauge i am now thinking of getting the boost, digital Air-Fuel/Volt and Digital Tach, to be mounted above my radio on my MSP. mounted on the stainless steel plate from:

Snoop,

i noticed in your pics that your bezel is a rather shiny/glossy black. why did you paint it that colour rather than a flat black like it was originally?

the glossy finish is from the clear coat i put on it ,with out it over time the paint will chip, but what you cant see in the pic is this clear coat is a auto motive bumper clear coat so that when it dries it leavs a texture just like the oem plastic

um.. there could be a simple howto on this.. Like cut out the factory gauge bezel to fit the gauge pod in, then just what, apply bondo and sand sand sand?

YOU MAKE IT SOUND SO EASY LOL !! THERE IS JUST A LITTLE MORE WORK THAN CUTTING A HOLE IN THE BEZEL . BY THE WAY I FORGOT TO MENTION THERE WAS NO MODIFICATION NEEDED OR REQUIRED TO MOUNT THE BEZEL IN THE MSP , I DESIGNED IT THAT WAY ON PURPOSE SO THAT I WOUDNT HAVE TO "HACK" UP THE DASH ON MY MSP
