never mind
I emailed Lund international about getting something made for us. They are willing to look into the marketing potential and asked me to check back in a few months. That's not exactly good news and a generic reply, but maybe they are serious maybe not.
For the love of god I need one of these
I wish someone would make one already!

Who cares? It's just going to ruin your aerodynamics.

maybe you'll care if you drive in the country all the time

I had one on my P5, I'm not going to bother with this car. It would look kinda wierd IMO. I'm surprised Mazda hasn't made one yet.

hmmmmm let me see, ruin my "aerodynamics", or let rocks keep taking the paint off of my 40k car????
gee, I'll have to think about that :)

There are front Mask's available, haven't found a hood deflector.

They block rocks? I don't know about that. I know a few people who had them and rocks seemed to find their cars nicely. Seems it wouldn't cover the most vulnerable area of your car either, in front of the leadig edge of the hood.
I know a lot of people who have used those clear film things on their car with excellent success though.
front masks, or bra's are horrible. Mazda does have one for the Speed. They actually do more damage then good as sand and grit gets behind them and you have a sandpaper effect going on between your paint and bra. Technically you are not supposed to leave a bra on all of the time. Probably would be great for those that use it on a track though.
The deflector will not protect the lower bumper. It does deflect the rocks coming towards your hood though. I've literally seen rocks coming at me, get caught in the airsteam of the deflector and just go over the car. Granted, a big rock will still do it's thing, but my hoods when I have had deflector's on have been near flawless even after 3-4 years. I also notice less chips in my windsheilds from sand and stuff over time.

Newf, I have great news for you. I'm currently in my hometown in northern Quebec, and I noticed that they have an MS6 on the lot....with a hood deflector :)
I went and checked it out, it's made by Mazda!

YES!
I'll go up the week and ask! I kind of would like to see it before I buy though. There are ugly deflectors out there that is for sure.

Don't worry, I saw it and it looks very nice, it sits nice and flush on the hood, and has contours for the hood bulge, and doesn't go too high either. Unfortunatly I didn't bring my camera.

Good find Phil!

yeah, I'll be getting this asap. Winter is coming, and they use sand on the roads here rather then salt.
So just in time!

Up north where I'm from there are so many rocks flying around everywhere that almost everyone has these on their cars.
If the dealership tells you it doesn't exist let me know I'll call the dealership in my hometown and get you the part #
I called the dealer this morning, they are trying to find the part number. If it isn't outrageously $$$ I'll get one. I'll take pics and add them here when I get it.
yeah I need a part number. can't seem to find it on their machines. I'd say it's too new yet. Maybe a 07 listing?

I called the dealer where I bought my car and they told me the part didn't exist. I then made a long distance call to the dealership back home, they told me that it did exist and was indeed a genuine mazda part, but the parts guy was gone for the day. They told me that they would get me the part number and price for tomorrow.

They are selling them for $109.95 just to give you a reference.

no problem, I want one as well as I've noticed my hood is full of rock chips. I'll take it off during the summer.
I wonder if one of the guys here can source them for a better price?
part # is 0000860M6A10
This comes up as a regular MAzda 6 deflector according to my dealer
I'm wondering if it fits anyways? I mean, the hood is different yes, but the very edge of the hood where this would go isn't that much different when you compare them.

Thats wierd, they told me the regular 6 deflector was 0000860M6A01
Maybe you can ask for that part and see if the MS6 defector comes up? I doubt the regular 6 deflector would fit though.
I'm going to call the dealer here this morning and run those 2 part numbers by them to see what they get.

Called the dealer...they told me that it's the regular 6 bug deflector that is installed on their MS6 and it was a perfect fit (I saw it myself). You can go ahead and order that.
i got one. Let me eat supper, and I'll post pics!
Is it a perfect fit? Nope. The hood bulge makes it a tight fit in the middle. Luckily the plastic has some give in it. Once it is on right though it seems ok. I'm hoping it still has enough flex in it for bumps and change in temps so it doesn't crack. I might be over thinking this a little.
Tip: Clean hood before installing. And put small towel or cloth over center of hood ( on the bulge) because until you put the rubber bumpers under neath it to hold up the center, it will touch and possibly scratch hood.

Looks pretty good. I'm sure it will hold up fine.
Yeah it should be fine. It'll help through the winter that is for sure.

Thanks for the info, I waxed my car today, and found a small chip right where the deflector would sit. Has anyone considered purchasing the deflector from the local Automotive stores, probably be a fraction of the cost since the regular 6 will fit. Either way I need to get one fast. Also looks pretty sharp in the pictures. Thanks
I paid $75 for mine Canadian

Well small problem our Canadian brothers only get the bug deflector. You cant get the bug deflector from Mazda in the US. I went to the Canadian Mazda site, just have to find time during the day to call around and find out if someone ships to the US.
I can try asking my dealer if they'd ship to the US.
Or call yourself.
Western Mazda. 709 639 8585. Ask for Mike, Bruce or Darren. all nice guys. I got a discount on mine because I had a coupon, but I "think" they are normally 80.00 CDN + tax, and probably add another $25 for ground shipping I'm guessing. Might be more for shipping due to it's off size and it is fragile.
tell him Steve sent ya. I'm the only Mazdaspeed6 in town with the deflector.
