I contacted Eric Hochwald at Auxmod regd a discount price for the basic auxmod. He said that 10 or more would have to be purchased to receive a group buy discount. The basic auxmod is selling for $60.00, no price yet on the advance auxmod. On their website it indicate that we can upgrade/trade up to the advance auxmod once available and will get a discount.
Group buys price for the basic AuxMod:
1-10 – At out list price, of US$60, each
10+ - $50 each
20+ - $45 each
50+ - $40 each
Reply if you're interested. I'll let Eric know.

I actually might be interested, but I'm curious as to how this would be installed?

It plugs into the bottom of the HU. Look in the How To section for a walkthrough.

I'm interested. My MS3 will be in in mid- to late-September.

It seems to be working with all/most cars. So it probably doesn't matter if I have a P5 and not a 3. In that case, I am in. Is this still happenning?

FYI, all 2007 models will have a 3.5mm audio input in the center console, next to the second power outlet. No need to get an auxmod. ;)

Excellent walkthrough, looks pretty easy, thanks! Definitely want to do this.
If you can, could you please re-take some pictures (with better lighting) of the finished setup? I just want to get a better idea of where everything is and how you have it connected because the last few pictures you have there are a little dark.
Also, do you know if pressing the 'Mode' button on the Steering Wheel will activate the 'Media' button/iPod after this is hooked up? Right now, pressing 'Mode' on my steering wheel cycles through AM/FM1/FM2/CD, doesn't go to 'Media' or 'Sat' but I guess that's because nothing is hooked up to it right now.

Which pictures do you need clarification on? Here's the cliff notes.
-HU removed
-Auxmod is plugged into Tape jack and attached with tape
-cable is run out the back of the HU, and HU is reinstalled
-ashtray removed, hole cut in back
-cable is run into the ashtray, ashtray reinstalled
-notch is cut in the ashtray insert for cable to come out
The way he has his he's still using the insert in the ashtray. If you remove the insert then there's absolutely no need to cut or drill anything. The cable can fit through the back of the ashtray (insert removed) where the light is, and still allow the door to open/close. Plus without the insert there's even more room to coil up the cable for storage.
