As the title says, my pass. side brake front brake dust shield has decided to loosen and fall out of place. It was rubbing on the rotor for the last few miles home, and sounded like all hell.
It appears that it's only a slip fit around something in there...I can't tell exactly what with the assembly together. I need to know if this thing can be reattached without pulling the rotor or hub. Any ideas?
I need to know fast because I've let a friend borrow the GTX so he can get to work. Now I can't get to work! D'oh! Thanks in advance.
*edit* Pulled the rotor and tapped the shield back into place with a large flathead and a rubber mallet. Crossing my fingers that it stays put. If it came loose once, it can do it again, and the slip fit over the spindle isn't as snug as I'd like. In case this ever happens to someone else...I don't think it can be done without pulling the rotor.
