Finally got the rubber switched to my new wheels last night. Did not get a chance to clean it up, these shots are as is at my apartment.

The wheels are Enkei Evo-5 - 18x7.5 45mm offset and hyper black finish. I wanted a wheel with a similar finish to the 03.5 MSP Racing Harts, and this is what i found. My stock wheels are now my winters. Im also saving about 4-5 lbs per corner.

Let me know what you think. I know what everyone is gonna say, "Needs a drop!"

Here you go:

very nice. I for one don't think I'll ever consider a drop for my ms6. If you only drive in the summer or don't get much snow, fine, but I'll never live with a low car again where I love. Between snow, and bumps, it's just no fun. i just dont find the gap that bad. in pics it looks worse then real life for some reason

I'm in the same boat as you. For some reason the gap doesn't bother me on this car whereas on the P5 it did.

those are 18's? they look small

Man, I can't wait to see someone lower the MS6. Hopefully via coilover kit, springs would just suck for those who live in area where it snows. The only other thing I would to Chowhounds MS6 would be to paint the calipers. Those design of wheels are just screaming for a big break kit or something to displaybehind them.

Yeah, for some odd reason the lines and proportions of the 6 make wheels look smaller especially the rear. It takes some getting used to.

Its because the size of the car, and how far away the wheels are to the fender......Even the slightest drop will make the wheels more proportioned to the car.

If i were going for some nice tuner style wheels on the Mazda6, i wouldnt put anything smaller than 18's......i personally would put 19's cause the car is so big, but would ONLY put them on if the car was lowered.

....Car looks great none the less.

That thing looks like it should have 19's stock on it. Looks nice though, very clean ride. :)

Thanks guys,

I was looking at 19s but most of them are just too heavy and too pricey for my taste.

I havent decided wheter or not to lower her, ill just wait and see what brands and types come out.

Yeah, good point about the weight, the lighter weight is a good thing. Looks like you could of gone a bit wider, but once again, weight issue. Looks nice.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree, about the wheels looking good on the car. :)

I dunno about switching to 19's for the car for that tuner look though. I'd rather have tuner performance. Reason being, you wanna put less tire wall on this?

Looking good.

That's one of my favorite sets of wheels I have seen on the Speed 6 so far. For me I am leaning towards a set of RX-8 Wheels at the moment, but my search continues.

And I agree with the others, for whatever reason, when you change the wheels on the Speed 6, even to another set of 18" wheels it looks a little odd in pictures, like it is begging for a drop.

Im not sure what width is the max you can go with on the 6, i know some guys running rx-8's which are 8" wide. I stayed close to stock with 7.5".

Any wheel you buy should be an offset of +45mm or more though.

Since you got a black speed you should check out the evo-s's in bronze.

Trust me I would definatly be droppin it, IF i didnt live in PA! Way too many hills, potholes, and snow! Maybe just a a small drop.....

Looks really nice!

If I get wheels for summer use, I am thinking a dark bronze might look good with White....but not sure yet :)

Yeah, you can use an 8" wide wheel if it's a high offset and it usually requires a fender roll.

Some people say they have run the RX-8 wheels with no roll while others say they needed to roll the fenders.

Looks real nice but "Do they rub at all?' I figure they are .6" per side or overall 1.25" wider track.

these are only 7.5" wide and i havent expirienced any rubbing at all.

Thanks.... have you loaded it up with weight @ all? I guess with stock springs it should be OK..... It also appears as if you'll have to be carefull parking as the tires will be closer to the curb...(bump) (bump)
Wheels do look great & love the red exterior.

Yep, just last week i had four full sized adults plus a baby seat witha 3 year old in it, and stuff in the trunk, still no rubbing.

Yes i try to be as careful as i can around the curbs, so far i have only one bit of curb rash, but lucily it was only a brush against the tire and nopt the wheel.

Thanks for the nice feedback.

buywheelstoday.com was the cheapest i could find em.

Yes they are in fact 18's but they have a large lip and the spokes are recessed a bit.

not bad at all!

I bought the lugs and hub centric rings from them. I asked them to ship the rings with the lugs and talked them into combining shipping. Saved a little there.

What color is your speed? Im interested to see what yours will look like.

Any other questions just let me know.
