Spied: 2008 Hyundai Tiburon

The Hyundai HCD8 Sports Tourer concept first shown at the 2004 Detroit Auto Show was originally believed to become the new 2008 Hyundai Tiburon model redesign. However this test mule we spied recently appears to be a last gasp for the front-drive Tiburon sports coupe, with merely a facelift of new front and rear fascias until it's phased out about 2009. For 2008, Hyundai will introduce a rear-drive "poor-man's BMW" sport sedan; a coupe version and possibly a convertible are expected for '09. Because this car is covered only front and back, we're guessing that indicates a facelift, not an all-new car. So this Tiburon facelift is just a way to breathe life into the car, which was all-new for 2003.

I've got high hopes for this one styling wise. Hyundai is on a roll and the current Tiburon wins my vote for most improved sport compact. As for their RWD concept, keep an eye on that. It imght give a lot of companies a run for their money. Stick the V6 from the sonata in that puppy, keep it at a decent price, include that warranty and WATCH OUT!!!!

I'd consider it. I talked my folks into looking at the Sonatas a month or so ago and they ended up buying one (with the v6). I rode in it a couple of weeks ago. It's a nice ride. Didn't drive it though.

yeah well the new redsigned one will be. This 07 tib is just a facelift. The redesign is scheduled as a 2009 model with RWD and a big motor.
