I am not seeing those part#'s in my big list o numbers. Where did you get them and maybe I can do a little research and see if I can come up with something.

How about the tool to get the oil filter housing off on teh 2.3l motors like what's in the Mazda 3? It has that canister thing that the oil filter goes in.

The oil filter wrench for the 2.3L cartridge style filter is 19.95. I do have some instock.

SSTs are not found in the price book or stocked at PDCs... they are found in M-Store instead just like FSMs, etc

This I know. The part#'s he has supplied do nut come up in M-store that is why I asked him to let me know where he got the #'s from and I would see if per chance he copied them down wrong or if he wrote them right and for some reason they are not listed. If the later is the case then I have a # I can call and maybe get some assistance.
The only # that he supplied the was even close to a listed tool was the
49-E011-1A0, that was close to tool # 49E0-11-1A10 (Holder). The other # supplied 49-E017-5A0 isn't even close to any # that I saw that was a 49E0.

good point
I only see a 49-0107-680A engine stand and 49-L010-1A0 engine stand hanger set in the FS engine overhaul manual
I do see 49-E011-1A0 in the shop manual though

Sorry for being such a pain! I got the numbers from the factory service manual I bought on a CD. Unfortunately I neglected to pack my case with all that stuff in it, and I won't be home for another three months so I can't double-check the numbers. The engine support set is the bar and stands that allow you to hang the engine off the fenders from the top, the flywheel tool is the plate with teeth that mesh with the flywheel to lock it in place while you are working on it. If that helps with the search great, if not I will be back in touch when I get my hands on my service CD.

Quick question. The P5 and MSP collant resouviors are the same, how much are they exactly? I may buy a new or used one, but I have no idea how much they actually are and if they come with the hose that connects to the radiator or not?

new one is about 50 bucks retail... does not come with hoses or brackets.. comes with lid of course... a new one is much better than used because there's no crap inside it :) you want none of that in your cooling system! it's that crap that clogs radiators, causes rusts, etc

Didn't know that this was available from those places, and anyhow I always see if I can get the factory stuff first at a reasonable price. It is usually better quality than the normal Chinese stuff you get from most places today. I keep my things longer than most (my newest motorcycle is a 1987 for example) and I don't mind paying for quality as a result.

I finally got off my ass, went got the manual and looked for my damn self. Sure enough there are the numbers you provided. I can get the holder (115.00 shipped within the US) I have a call into Mazda about the engine hanger, because they have no listing for it, I am waiting on a call back.
I can atest to the quality of this product from the outside suppliers like northern and harbor freight. That is who we basically use for ours in the shop and they last us about 2.5 yrs each and we use them all the time.
I will let you know what I find out. If you are nterested in doing this just give me a call at 704-563-1510 ext 141
Thanks,

I just got off the phone with Mazda on the engine holder. They are looking into price and availability. The reason it is not listed on M-Store is because it is not considered a mandatory or needed tool.
Have pateince I will have an answer soon,

Jason,
Thanks for your efforts so far. If Mazda gets back to you with a price that's great, otherwise don't bother spending any more time on this. Given that the flywheel tool is priced where it is, I am sure the engine tool will be outrageous. Northern Tools has an engine support for $50 which seems pretty decent.
I appreciate your time. Hey, at least I stumped you for a bit!

Well you didn't have me stumped as much as you made me get off my ass and work for it, thats fine just don't make a habit out of it.:) :) :)
Have a safe and fun 4th.

81 RX-7 stuff is easy. Now if you said 76 rotary truck then we might start having issues. :)
