has anyone ever used one of these on their msp? im curious as to how it would connect to our cars ( i have stock intercooler pipes). it doesnt say a max psi but i plan on keeping mine under 10. and how does this valve sound

I absolutely love mine. I tried the RFL and hated it. I can send you pics/info on how and where to mount it, if you'll hound me with PM's and remind me to.

Ok, here's a pic that should be self explanatory b/c we evidently have similar setups. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

BTW, check out the polished bellhousing on the tranny (w00t). I did that the other day during my clutch swap. It takes forever and it will need a lot more work before it gets really pretty, so I'll work on it some more when it comes out again for the motor swap.

Sorry, no sound clip of the Type-S. My digital camera sucks with recording audio. I might give it a try in a day or two. Just got back in town and have a lot of work to catch up on. Like before, PM me if I forget.

It sounds wicked as hell to me. Drove 500 miles in it today and peeps quit screwing with me when they hear it.

The RFL required a lot more pressure to blow off. I tried playing with different packing washers, and if there was enough tension to keep it closed at idle, it was too much to let it blow off easily. When it did, it was no louder than my Type-S. My guess is the RFL is sized for bigger applications, more c.f.m., etc. The Type-S seems to be just right for my setup. It stays closed at idle but will blow off or otherwise cause a ruckus with very slight changes in the throttle.

Thanks, I've heard different things about the RFL but have had doubts because it was designed to boost over 15 PSI. How much boost are you running?

I'm at 8 psi, give or take. Basically stock boost with whatever I picked up from the mods.

I'm keeping the RFL for now in case I use it on my Trans Am or on the MSP after the built motor goes in. More than likely I'll try to keep the Type-S.

BTW, I tried again to get a sound clip with the digicam but you couldn't hear shit. I paid a little more attention today, and I'd describe it as a "howl" more than anything. It still has a turkey, but a howling one, lol.
