Well I installed my unichip a little more than a week ago and was pretty satisfied with the factory tune from Unichip. Running Map A only: Low Boost (stock boost) setting was very smooth, no hesitation at all. High Boost setting was not so good. I would spike to 14-15 psi and then hit fuel cut. So I had a custom map uploaded and WOW what a difference Map A: Low Boost same as above. High Boost is wonderful, pulls really hard at about 4000rpms to redline and very smooth. I love it!!

I had a chance to run my buddy in his STAGE 2 SRT-4 plus Map clamp, upgraded FMIC, and TBE.

We went from a 30mph roll (2nd gear), he got a good jump on me, he pulled 1 1/2 car lengths on me by the end of third. We ran to 85-90mph, at the end he was about 3-3 1/2 car lengths ahead. My intercooler was heatsoaked by the time we found another open spot to run so we didn't even bother, but I know he would have walked me reguardless, but yeah it was a fun and I'm definitely buying an FMIC here soon.

Haha, satisified till you are used to it and want more power. it's an addiction. I need to run a stage 2 myself and hopefully tonight I can run this one.

So Map B has the more aggressive timing, right?

looks like the only performance mod you have is a chip. is that correct?

Definitely - that's exactly what I was going to say.

Upgrade your intercooler! And if you're running higher-than-stock boost, you should change your plugs to one heat range cooler. (ZFR7F-11, I believe. I will be running Denso IK22 plugs in the near future, hopefully.)

I just found out that magnus motor sports is an authorized unichip dealer. I think my next mod is gonna be a chip

From unichip out of the box, Map B is more aggressive

Custom tune, now Map A is more aggressive

I'm stopping till I get another car to start the habit up again. In the mean time this dose should be enough for now.

arent you worried about your internals running that much boost? ive heard of cracked rods @ 10psi. i run mine @ 9 psi with just a mbc... let me klnow if you know heard anything about running high boost like that on stock internals..

People have blown the engines stock. I wouldn't go above 10 psi personally but I would also get the bolt-ons to go with it.

what are you AF numbers before and after the custom tune?

it`s not about "aggressiveness." MAP B advances the timing and is set for race fuel. DO NOT run MAP B without race fuel. someone on the forum recently ran MAP B for a day and blew the motor when he would have been perfectly fine on MAP A. tuning your MAP for a better A/F ratio and advancing the timing are two different things. advanced timing = detonation or race fuel.

I wouldn't suggest running man b without race fuil but i heard of some ppl running with 93/94+. I think your best off getting a custom tune on map A then if you decide to run race fuil you can run map b.

The way the maps are setup is MapA is a fuel/ignition map and MapB is solely WOT ignition. So if you run MapB you are really running MapA except that at WOT you get a few degrees of timing added.

You don't need race gas to run MapB, but you do need to determine if you're knocking with that additional timing. If you're not knocking, its safe. My car ran fine with it.
