what kind of oil filter do u use??

I dropped my car off at the dealership because my engine had a little ticking noise. Well they told me it was because of the oil filter something about the paper inside the Fram filter was strong enough. They said with this car you should only use the mazda filter. I had never heard of that before and was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem? Also after they changed the oil and filter the tick was gone? the oil and filter were only at 2000 miles.

40,000 + on Fram Toughgaurd, tried the factory once or twice did not care for them much, I'd get that rattle knock ,knock a little too soon, but on my TG it happens when I know Iam due for a oil change soon
