Also, can you note milage on the MSP and what model of the MS6 you got?
Thanks!

When I was looking into a MS6 my dealer was going to give me 10k for the MSP @ 32,000. I was looking around when they were first released and the dealer really wasn't budging, so that ended that.

32,000 - 34,000 for GT
28,000 -30,000 for Standard
You can get a little better here or there, depending on if the dealer has sold any speed6's or not. But, don't trade in your MSP... Sell it private. They are easy to sell at a good price. Clean it up nice, make it look and smell like new... and you'll get top Blue Book value easily.

So far, they are willing to give me at least 12K in trade. At least that is what they told me online via email trades.

I didn't trade in my MSP I sold it myself. It had 32000 miles, 03.5 with injen, mazdaspeed axelback, mbc, and autometer gauges, along with some aftermarket stereo equipment and sirius radio for $13,800, I did keep immaculate care of it though.
I bought the GT model MS6 with black/white leather and moonroof for 28,000 in march.
here's a link to my fole sale thread for my msp, just for the hell of it

sshhh!
Yeah, just checking out my options.
The dealership I got my MSP from offered me at least 12K for my car and then said they have a MS6 with 5K on it with every option including navigation and a moonroof for 25K.
So...I was thinking about it, but I am not sure yet. I haven't driven the MS6 yet, so I'll have to try that first. I am meeting up with the dealer on Monday to see what kind of deal he can give me and test drive the MS6.

Here's a bit of advice.. Unless you want to buy an MS6, don't drive it. I made that mistake. And now I'm trying to figure out how to sell a kidney or part of my liver to get one.

Like everyone else said, don't drive it unless you plan on buying it. That's how I ended up with mine.
Seems like the going rate is 12k-13k in trade. At least around here dealers don't want the MSP because it sits on their lot for a long time. They are also having a tough time selling MS6. The base model mazdaspeed 6 can be had for a pretty good price these days. Mine was 22,895 on a lease before taxes, but it could also be purchased for $500 more.

You got yours for $22,895??? That's a hell of a deal. I would buy, so then $23,395? I'll shop around to see who can get close to that.
What is a good APR these days on a 5yr?

A local dealer has 15-16 of them on the lot and they advertised the "one at this price only" and that is the one I got.

Cool, good to know someone made some money on it. What did they give you in trade, dollars?
19500 Canadian I think. I owed 17,000. That's all Canadian.
They'll probably turn around and sell it for 21,000

Well....I drove the MS6 yesterday after work. I was pretty impressed with it. I just about pushed the clutch pedal through the floor though, as it was really soft compared to the act clutch in my MSP. The MS6 seemed to get up and go really quick and was really smooth. 6th gear is nice too. I didn't know what to do with it since I have never seen 6th before :p. I have to think hard about this...I want one, but I don't want to have a massive payment on it either.
I drove a used GT one with 8K on it. They were willing to let me have it for $25,500 out the door with the trade of my MSP.
I think I might hang on to the MSP until there are some incentives on the MS6. The APR was too high for the used car, 6.9%. I know for a new MS6 you can get 4.9% right now.
I am also going to see what a new MS6 Sport model will cost me out the door with trade. I like the idea of getting a new car again so I know the full history of the car. Who knows what could have been done to the other one in those 8K miles.
Anywho...just thought I'd let you guys know, and thanks for all the input.
If anyone knows of any or hears of any incentives on the MS6, please let me know.
Thanks,
Ryan
no way I would pay 6.9% or even 4.9 for that matter. Yeah, my suggestion is to wait. What is the ALR down there? Do they have the return customer loyalty rebate down there?

I wish that was true, my blue baby was gone off the dealer lot 3 days after i traded it in.

only incentives ive seen are lease rebates, but if you are willing to wait a few months, there should be some good incentives around aug-sept. Especially since there are so many out there still sitting on the lots (poor mazda advertising again)

That is what I am seeing too. There is a $2k lease rebate, but I don't really want to lease. I think I will probably wait for a some better incentives, like you said. They will probably come out in Sept. I am sure there will be plenty MS6's left on the lot.

Here are the best deals I have been offered so far:
Hi Ryan,
I do have #65728, 2006 Mazda Speed 6, sport package, Black & comp/autodim mirror.
MSRP $28,730.00. WALSER BEST PRICE $25,730.00.
& 4.9% for 60 months (O.A.C.)
I do have #65753, 2006 Mazda Speed 6, Velocity Red, grand touring, moonroof.
MSRP $31,185.00. WALSER BEST PRICE $27,685.00.

You may want to lease it with the intention of buying it out. Leasing is a much, much better deal than it was several years ago because manufacturers have decided to focus their incentives on the lease market. I'm regretting not looking into a lease after reading this article:

So this car will be a 6-7 year plan whereas my msp was the a 5 year.
I can live with that! Plus my mountain bike fits in the trunk!

Great article, thanks!
I am working a lease deal with one dealership and a purchase with another dealership as we speak to see what would work out best for me.
Question I have is...on the lease, is the buy out price at the end negotiable? Or is this price pretty much MSRP-how much you pay on the lease payments?

one way or another your gonna get screwed by the dealer.
yes, he may offer you 15k for your MSP, Which sounds awesome, but he will in turn jack up the price of the MS6.
Private sale is your best bet.
I couldnt find a dealer willing to budge on the price of the MS6, so I got a Legacy GT.
No regrets so far.

Yeah..that is why I am shopping around. I'll take the best trade in offer and then the best price on the MS6. I will then tell each dealership what they other is doing for me and hope to meet somewhere in the middle. If they don't then I wait until there are better incentives.
Trust me, I have done this before and I don't mind taking my time and getting the best deal possible. I saved 7K doing this for 2 weeks on my wifes Sorento.

I would suggest going to a whole new mazda dealership and see if you find a MS6 there with the same options as the one you have eyed an the other dealer. Try negociating the price with a salesman there making sure you don't even mention a trade in. I guarantee you will get a lower price. That is the trick. Get them down to a price that you want, THEN spring the trade in on them.
It's like bulldog said above. If the dealer knows you plan on trading in they will find a way to make is sound like you are getting a deal, when really you would be paying more.
that is exactly what I did. Never mentioned trade, went to various dealers and I got what I was looking for.

You would be surprised what a few well placed emails can do. I had my deal made for my car and only actually went to one dealer. Hit the Mazda web page, start emailing dealers. That is what I did. BE sure to mention that you are asking several dealers, tell them to cut through the bullshit, give you the bottom line.

And my car was immaculate, it didn't have a door ding, and still shined just like the day I bought it brand new. Oh well, I'm happy with my decision so thats all that matters I guess.

My car will be bone stock when I trade it in also...I just have to take the parts off. 10K isn't bad either though, one dealership told me 10,500 and I only have 39K on it. It all depends on what the dealer is willing to do on the car they are selling you.

I'm so jealous! Looks good bro. I will probably have to stick with the silver, or red.
Thanks!
I wanted Blazing Yellow Mica, but that isn't an option.

the front end looks awesome in white!
usually, with a car, it looks bad in certain colors. However, this MS6 seems to look good in every color so far.
Very Nice. I actually tried to get a sport as I didn't want leather, but I could not find one.

Congrats, beautiful color - and looks like we bought our cars at the same dealer.

I love the white, probably my favorite speed 6 color.
I am also coming from the blazing yellow mica, but I am very happy with my titanium.

Thanks....I am really liking the color. I am trying to decide if I should get aftermarket rims and then put the stock tires on them. Then I would put blizzacks on the stock rims.
Or...I might just get some blizzacks and swap them back and forth.
I didn't like the stock rims at first, but they are starting to grow on me and I kinda like them now.
I think my first mods will be the shark fin and a CAI or SRI. Probably the Mazdaspeed CAI as they really can't blame any warranty work on it then.

Walser was the best price wise and trade in wise, so it was a easy choice. The other dealers matched the price after I told them what Walser offered, but if they really wanted my business they shoulda give me that price right up front. It's really sad, cause Morries and Luther both have sold me a car before, and yet they tried to get as much out of me as they could.

Yeah ive been tossing around a ton of ideas about how to work out the winter tire situation.
I think ive settled on using the stock wheels for winter and taking the stock potenza and wrapping them around some really nice 18" for summer use.
What im looking for currently is a nice, lighter 18 with the same finish as the 03.5 RH's (i miss those wheels way too much!)

Yeah...that is the way I am leaning also.
I like the RH's also. I want something that kinda fades in towards the middle, like on the new Acura TL's or the BMW's.

If you want to save money...snag some stock 17x7 wheels from the standard Mazda 6. They fit fine and work great as winter rims.
You might also be able to fit some 16's, if you run a spacer in the front. Never tried it, nor have I seen anyone try it yet.

Since I like replying to myself so much....just thought I'd share that I am now a MS6 owner.
-Ryan
Congrats! You got exactly what I would have, I am so jealous.
(white is the best color IMO)
Here's a bit of advice.. Unless you want to buy an MS6, don't drive it. I made that mistake. And now I'm trying to figure out how to sell a kidney or part of my liver to get one.
Sean... I don't think anyone would want part of your liver... and trust me you will need all of it someday. :p

I was looking into that but most people want too much for stock rims. For the price they are asking you could just order a cheap 17 from tirerack and it would probably lighter and nicer looking.
If i could find stockers locally it would be a different story.

Thanks crossbow, I might do that actually! Tires would probably be cheaper also. What size tire does the MS6 require if you use the 6 rim?

What kind of price have you been seeing them go for?
I'm in the same boat. Looking for some rims. I just went to dealer, they gave me a 16 to try....I am 99% sure it's too small, but I'll try it before I write it off.
IF anyone in Canada is selling some 17's let me know.

I just ordered my new summer wheels!!!!
got a set of 18's, but im saving about 4-5lbs per corner. pics to come probably this coming weekend.
Ive decided to use my stockers for my winter setup, but instead of going for 215-45-18 blizzaks at $200 a piece, im going to wrap em in some good all seasons for about 120 a piece.
so total i will be out the hole about 1300-1400 but ill get a nice set of summers out of it, and some decent winters. I dont think thats too bad.

Sweet, do you have a link to the wheels you got?
I am looking for a set of Mazda 6 wheels for the winter. But if I can't find a set, I may get some all seasons for the stock MS6 wheels and then looks for some rims also.

Im not going show what i got yet, until they are on and i have some pics.
but i will say i was able to find a finish very similar to the 03.5 rh's, so they should have that stealthy look.
