Now that we have a few owners out there, and the cars are brilliant with mica powder and clear coat, what cleaners and/or polishes would you use. I don't think going to a car wash is a smart idea. I see Meguiars has some products for clear coat.
Do you think a paint protector is a good idea?

I'm happy with Kit Carnauba Wash & Wax as a soap for washing. I've got black, so spotting is a concern of mine. I used it on the Mazda6, and have done once on the CX-7. It's as good as you're gonna get.
Haven't done a real polish/wax yet. That's a lot of area to cover, and I haven't got up the nerve yet.

You realize this is a Ford vs. Chevy type topic right?
I'm not a CX-7 owner, but the only thing my Protege has ever had on it is Meguiar's Mirror Glaze. I use the Medallion Series paint cleaner, the #7 Show Car Glaze, and the #26 High Tech Yellow Wax. In one word: gorgeous.
When that stuff runs out I'll probably swith to Menzerna products.

I have dealt with that company for about 4 years now, and they are great.

Used Turtle Ice today.
Love the stuff. We'll see how it stands over time.
Best thing is that there's no residual powder. More substantial finish than the other "detailers mists,"
