View Full Version : OK what is the highest boost rating stock?

i have heard 12psi is ok 10 psi is ok but i dont know for sure i dont want anything happing to the turbo or engine anyone know the proper boost the stock internals can take all day with no probllems at all?

dude, it depends so much on weather, driving style, supporting mods, etc, etc, that there is no 'magic' number. if you don't want to blow your engine and you want to leave it stock, don't adjust the boost!

personally i would go no higher then 10psi on stock internals and that would be with fmic, tbe, intake, and some sort of EMS
i'm prolly not gonna be upping boost at all till i get EMS, and even then it'll prolly be only to 10 psi. however i think the previous owner went up to 12 with no EMS or exhaust, which scares me.

yea i guess u are right about that i guess no more than 10psi on a stock internal engine will be ok thanx.any other comment appreciated.

i went for a year at 14-15psi on the stock turbo w/ all the bolt on plus 440cc injectors dynotuned on the dsmAFC. the car ran great.
i did eventually blow but that was on the gt28rs. some say it was the rs, some say the damage was done before hand running 15psi.
i was fortunate to have the finance available to get a built motor and such w/o any major setback. If you don't, i wouldn't risk running over 12psi w/ ems plus supporting mods.
