i think that the apexi is the best at 3in from spipe back but i dont have anydyno result from any of the exhaust so if anyone has any dyno proven mubers for the ion, corksprt, apexi etc....thanx hwkspeed

they are all different setups the GHL and iON are full... (iON is hard to come by), apexi is s-back, vibrant are j-back, and cork is also j-back, i'm not sure on perrin... you get most with the cat delete... so it is all about the sound baby

Well my pick would be the GHL and then the Vibrant. Don't have any dyno graphs of them though. Suggest you go to the manufactures website and e-mail them about dyno graphs

I was wondering about that because I am about to redo my exhaust, its only 2.5 and still has the one cat, should I go with ghl or perrin, bc I have heard that perrin has 3 inch all the way from the downpipe. I would rather have a thicker exhaust all the way back, and eliminate the other cat. What has worked best for you guys...????

I have the ION turbo-back and I'm dissatisfied w/ the fitment and also some of the ceramic coating is peeling on my downpipe. Took forever to get in... (9months of Jack's shit). The gains are excellent though.
If I had to do it over again, I would go GHL hands down. They are very reasonably price considering the badass quality. They have excellent customer service and WARRANTY their product for life for the original owner. I know a fellow MSPer here in Houston and she has their turboback. I screwed up and went Ion. Don't make the same mistake. Hope this helps.

have you ever seen a vibrant exhaust? fitment is great, quality is amazing, and sound is great.

Apexi doens't have a TB exhaust read again, downpipe...actually its called the mid pipe then the cat back section...thats all you and still have the restrictuve s pipe and j pipe unit.

Perrin is a downpipe back exhaust. It starts after the S & J pipe like the better known CorkSport exhaust.
Perrin is one of the least restrictive exhaust b/c it is 3 inches, mandrel bent, has zero cats, zero resonator, and has a straight thru muffler.
be aware tho, a free flowing exhaust like that is f'ing loud. I got a $106 noise maker ticket for jus driving by a cop normally which was total bullshit.... but back to the subject.
it's also nice b/c it goes over the rear axel so you'll have no clearence issues.
if you want a full turbo back you can just add a cork sport downpipe which will mate perfectly to a perrin exhaust.

thanx i looked into the perrin and it is the s-pipe back no cats or resinators it 850 nice 3in piping and it comes with a 4inch tip i love it loud the louder the better thanx

perrin exhaust 3inch is 850 not including downpipe and the apexi is only 550 and then 300 for the downpipe i think the apexi is a better deal anyone think diffrent or have a better deal than that?

/signed because i am in the same boat.
I sent Jack my 1st payment of like 900 like two weeks before GHL came around and he wouldn't refund my payment.
Get the GHL my good buddy has one and its a better made exhaust IMO, sounds great and he actually gets good customer service.

My buddy has the Perrin and it is LOUD. No cat, no resonator, straight through. Looks like a quality piece though, flanges nice and thick, good fitment.

Although you are correct in stating that Apexi does not have a TBE, I think you've got Apexi mixed up with MAM as far as down/mid - pipes are concerned...(peep)
The Apexi downpipe is a one-piece design that replaces the J-pipe and midpipe.
The MAM midpipe replaces only the midpipe, and leaves the stock J-pipe.

corksport s to apexr1.com 3 inch downpipe w/o cats and then buy a muffler of your choice and get that put on...
corksport s $199
apexr1 3 in dp w/o cat 299
mufflers differ in price but ill say apexi n1 215
and lets say about 100 for labor adding your muffler
thats 813 dollars if everything gets free shipping
this will be great sounding, great performance, and cheapest turboback so like they said above, its all about sound

i don't think you're comparing it quite right. Apexr1's downpipe consists of the j-pipe and midpipe. Perrin's exhaust includes the midpipe but not the j-pipe. it would be easier to compare the components needed for the full turboback exhaust.
ApexR1 catback $550
ApexR1 downpipe (j/mid) $330 (for 3")
Corksport S pipe $200
$1080
vs
Perrin DP Back $850
Corksport Downpipe (S&J) $250
$1100
its about a $20 dollar difference...
Apexr1 down pipe is mild steel ceramic coated, and perrin is full stainless steel. Apexr1 is 3" from the s-pipe back, and perrin is from the j-pipe back. Apexr1 is runs under the rear axle, and perrin is over.

what about the section from the cat to the muffler? reuse the stock one? thats about 2" in diameter that shrinks even smaller thru the bends... that would go from 2.5 inches to 3 inches back down to 2 inches then to whatever the muffler is.
if you wanna go a less expensive rout, jus getting the full turboback corksport exhaust would be idea, 2.4" all the way back for $650.

I have a perrin and it is awsome.before I had the perring I had the apex downpipe. the apex piipe started getting a little shitty after about a year and a half. my perrin has been on for a few months and it is awsome. it's not actually that loud I dont think but I did pick up about 3/10 of a second to about a half second. and I have 1/4 mile slips from last year to this year.

GHL because it's a real turbo-back. Now if Perrin would make an S and J pipe that'd be the shit.

so is the corksport but its half the price. its just 2.6in instead of 3in.

My pick would be:
1)GHL
2)Vibrant
3)Perrin
4)CorkSport
The only thing with the GHL is i have heard alot of people with their pipes or something cracking. They are good with warrenty, but if u look on their site they want you to take off the exhaust if anything breaks or cracks and ship it to them, to me that sounds like a lot of work. especially taking the s pipe off if that cracks.

GHL gets my vote. I have a 3" full downpipe with a highflow cat.

I have the 3in J & down pipe and cat-less 3in from Apexi and Im extremely happy with it . The only problem is that since it goes under the axel you will hahe to watch out for dipps in the road because it will scrape.

its nice to see so many different options for the msp now...
i remember when no one made a turboback exhaust for the msp, and now we have enough to debate which we like best.

got all you beat ;)
MAM one piece 2.5 inch DP
MAM 2.5 Catless Midpipe
Thermal R&D 3.0 catback
Does Perrin Sell the Muffler By itself, I like the thermal exhaust but i hate the way the muffler looks, and the perrin muffler looks bad ass

you are saying you gained 42whp by just adding the exhaust? or adding teh fmic, unichip, and exhaust?

42whp from 3-4 more psi and exhaust isn't hard to believe. i gained 41whp from jus increasing boost from 10-14psi plus some a/f tuning.
