Trackday with my mazda3...

i did trackday last march on the 21st... i actually organised it for my car club... EXE... was held at Winton raceway, victoria, Australia...

my modifications at that time were:
autoexe front and rear sway bar (thx to RMS motorsport)
autoexe front and rear sturt bar (thx to RMS motorsport)
AEM CAI (Unreal autosport)
magnaflow custom catback... 2.5 piping (thx to daalder exhaust)
tein SS coilover (thx to RMS motorsport)
take off the rear seat and spare tyres... :P (thx to me and my back pain)
mazdaspeed HD clutch (thx to ken / protegegarage.com)
EXEDY flywheel (thx to blu2)

The EXE trackday at winton was great!!! i did 1:51sec for the 3km track (long track)... could've done better but i keep spinning out of the track... i guess i cant drive properly :P

here are the list of the racer on the day... the fastest driver on the day is Steven in integra DC2, but he is using desmond's timing device so his time came up under desmond... so the fastest car is DC2 typeR not honda civic EF....

the lancer is a GSR AWD turbo. own by cully5. was running out of brake pads, but still managed to get decent times...

MPS6 is mazdaspeed6... he was having problem with the ECU and ignition timing... but still managed to get decent times too... what a great car...

Steven was showing me the 'line' and some new techniques... i did 1:56 before he show me the 'line'... then he did 1:53 on my car.... then after try 6-7 laps, i managed to beat mine and his PB... i luckily clocked 1:51

conclusion...
i wish mazda3 2.3 had more grunt...
i wish i had LSD
i wish its awd... lol...

nah jk jk... mazda3 have a very very good handling in it's class... and can be better with the help of LSD...

this was my first time and i wish i can do better next time...

i bought this wheels and 17inch rims just for the track day.... and i sold my stock 17inch wheels... the reason is i need 17x7.5 to fit 225/45/17 bridgestone RE070... and my stock wheels are 17x6.5 (i still can use 225 on 6.5 width rims but im affraid the sidewall will flex)

nicely done man.... how you liking the exedy flywheel? i have one sitting on my bureau (sp??) and am torn to put it in now or wait another 20k more miles until the warranty runs out....

hmmm... it not much different if you just drive normally.... revs goes up and down abit faster.... but up there, between 5000-7000rpm... it really makes a different....

good luck trying to order one... i tried for the last 2 weeks and everywhere was a 3 month wait due to back order and shipping issues from japan... you may have better luck in oz then i did here... i ended up with a pretty light weight wheel though... 18" 16lb... not to bad

yeah its not going to stop raining until next week sometime so have to wait until then... should have prokit installed and my new lugnuts in by then to give a better look imo....
