Well after I installed the headers and RR-racing motor mounts & it became very apparent the stock exhaust hangers were MUCH too week and allowed too much movemnet of the exhaust line. Things started to bang arround and the exhaust tip was wobbling vilently.

I know the best sollution is to get the kartboy exhaust hangers, BUT I dont have the extra cash Or the time to wait for them so I needed a quick fix.

What I came up with works 100% perfect and cost $4.

I went over to Home Depo and grabbed some 2" Dryer clamps & put them arround the stock rubber hangers and tightened them up. At first it was a little too tight, but a few twist of the bolt adjusted it, and it all sits just right!

Tools needed

Flat head Screw Driver or Socet wrench

Parts to Purchace

2" Dryer Clamp / As many as you need $1 each.

Step 1

Put the clamp arround the middle of the rubber hanger, making sure the tightening bolt wont come in contact with anything with the movement of the exhaust line (Mine hit the heat sheild and needed some adjusting)

Step 2

Tighten the bolt dont tighten it too much, you will want to adjust it to where you like it (Where it makes no rattles and doesnt move arround like crazy)

Step 3

Take a ride and adjust it if needed.

Here is what it looks like when done.

Ive had it on for about 2 weeks now issue free. It even looks like it was just put on.

Sallllright :)

I was happy it worked, with all the banging arround that was going on I was sure something else would of ended up getting busted.

my exhaust was rattling right after I put on my OBX header, I loosened the spring bolts and it took care of a lot of the rattle... I got a couple more that this might help take care of.

I was having some exhaust leeks out of where the header bolted to the mid pipe, I got the rattles when I cranked the spring bolts to fix it & the exhaust went nuts rattling like crazy, I figured ohhh kay get the exhaust hangers thats probaly what most people have done. Then I though of this and it fixed my issues. I kept smeeling exhaust fumes in the cabin before I cranked the spring bolts, so Im reluctant to losen them up.

Good thinking man. Really easy and fast DIY method (thumb).

This is a cheap method that will do the same thing as the polyurethane hanger bushings....I think, hehe

I have had them on for a few k and no issues (I have also added some to my mid pipe hangers), I have herd some others have tried it out with success also.

Ill also mention that you can use this method to adjust how the exhaust pipes hang inside an inch or 2. This is pretty easy to do as the tighter the clamp, the closer to the body the pipe hangs.

It reduces the movement of the exhaust dramatically.

Nice job man, I think I may try this, I like Kartboy a lot, but it is such a quick easy fix, that seems like no problems will arise, do me a favor and report if anything does go wrong.

Dude, very cool way to do it. I have had a problem with my exhaust rddling especially since I have a aftermarket body kit. Smart idea man, GOOD JOB!!! I am definitely going to try it and see how it goes. Thanks again man.

well i broke the bank for the 3 dollars and did this to my car, my ms sport exhaust is hanging perfect, and reduced the movement by around 60%
