No warning signal when lights on / engine off

hi, today i realised that there is no warning beep when the engine is turned off and the lights are still on.. which parts are responsible for this mechanism ?

you n00b, it's a FEATURE not a bug!
the EDM version has NO warning bells and whistles!
NO door chime, NO lights on chime, NO seat belt chime

the stock warning shit is part of the CPU and gauge cluster

am i supposed to laugh about that?! of course you get a audible warning signal if you got the lights on the and the ignition off... i got it for 3,5years and suddenly it disappeared 8-(

Same thing happend to me.
Check to see if your door sensor is working. MIne goes off if the lights are on and the door is open. Some how someone kicked down the sensor so the car always thought the door was open. Replaced it $10 later everything works again.

Wait I dont get a seatbelt chime?

i remember having problems with that knob on the lower door side..my light was flickering sometimes and the contact knob was somehow responsible for it, so it was lubed and it worked again.
i already grabbed and moved it a bit to see if it was also responsible for the door beep but it wasn't :\\
wouldn't the door chime appear if the contact sensor thought that the door was open?

yes if your door would be open or sensor was bad (indicating that door is open but its really not) then you should definetly get the annoying noise reminding you that your lights are on. Although its very strange that it stopped working all of a sudden.....

I don't really have a solution for you man, but maybe the speaker that makes the noise, went to shit? I don't even know if there's a separate tiny speaker for this noise only.....how about when you leave your key in the ignition but not turning it and leaving the door open......do you get the noise or no? You should if everything works fine.

i looked in the EPC and there is some "high tone horn" but if this is a piezzo device it's rather unlike that it became defective.

One more question. Your dome light on the ceiling...do you leave it in "center" position? meaning, if you do, the light should turn on only when your doors or trunk are open. If the light doesn't turn on when doors are ajar, then your door sensor is toasty. The sensor problem would explain why you dont get any noise when door is open and lights are on or key is not pulled out of the ignition.

i was at the dealership today... checked DTC 14 - result: replace the hole tach/instrument cluster (a small 20cent piezzo unit inside is defective lol) ^^
will cost 650 euros but let's see if my extended mazda warranty will pay for it...

seems i will have to deinstall my tach rings and my tach mask :\\\
