Mazda 3 Five door Power steering noise

Any one else notice a noisy power steering - why is it?

Yeah mine is noisy to. Evern if i am in a parking lot and just turning a little bit or something. Who knows?

Is it like a baby cat whining sound or is it something else because if it is like the whining sound then im sure its normal with it being hydroelectrice or whatever the dealer called it.

Yeah, it's normal. It's because the power steering system works off of an electric motor instead of a belt on the engine. The more you load the system, the louder the whine because the harder the motor has to work.

My squeaks. It used to whine and still does sometimes but it squeaks at low speed.

Anyone else have a squaky one?

ya, at first i thought it was my tires rubbing on the inside but its definetly the power steering

i think i have the same noise.... i put a mic next to my intake and I can hear a whine that gets louder sometimes (thought it was the ECU). Could be the power steering, but why is it loud even when you're going straight?

Its not normal.
I just had it inspected this morning and left it at the dealership. They will be replacing it at no charge because it is under warranty.
