Livernois Motorsports has long since adhered to the preposition that not all project cars are created equal, and in the case of their black Mustang
GT, the real beauty of this performance monster lies beneath its Tier One stamped skin.

The usual mode of operation for Livernois is to choose a vehicle that will become a calling card for the performance updates that their staff is capable of performing.

As so chosen this black beauty began its charmed life with exhaust, nitrous oxide and CNC head therapy. Not only did this breathe life into the GT, it was also representative of what Livernois customers might request when they bring in their mounts for enhancements.

These slight improvements allowed the GT to cover the tarmac in 11.86 seconds at more than 117 mph. This chapter of the story was complete and now the crew at Livernois was ready to move the benchmark several notches higher.

The goal was to build a car that made a lot of power, but was still well mannered on the street while keeping creature comforts such as power accessories, A/C, etc.

The heart of Livernois Motorsports Mustang is a built 4.6-liter 3-valve engine equipped with a centrifugal ProCharger F-1A Supercharger and 3 core air-to-air intercooler. The vehicle breathes through a set of Kooks longtube headers and x-pipe followed by a Corsa axle-back exhaust system (http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/mustanggt_livernois.asp#).

The transformation continued with a critical infusion of driveline and chassis modifications to support the new found power. A Viper-spec T56 6 speed (http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/mustanggt_livernois.asp#) transmission was added along with a RAM 11”
Power Grid HD clutch disc, pressure plate (http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/mustanggt_livernois.asp#), and aluminum flywheel, Dyno-Tech 1 piece metal matrix driveshaft, Eaton Posi differential, 3.73 ring and pinion, and Moser 31-spline axle shafts (http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/mustanggt_livernois.asp#).

The vehicle also features a custom Livernois Motorsports suspension package consisting of parts from Steeda, BMR, and Ford (http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/mustanggt_livernois.asp#) Racing to help it perform well whether it’s on the drag strip or a road course. Suspensions parts include HD boxed Subframe connectors, adjustable panhard bar & brace, Anthony Jones tubular K-Member, Competition struts, shock absorbers, lowering springs, anti-sway bars, and bumpsteer kit.

To help the vehicle stop, they’ve added a set of Baer Extreme + 15” Slotted Rotors w/ Six Piston Calipers.

The interior of the vehicle remains relatively stock with the only addition being a set of Corbeau CR-1 seats along with their 5 point restraint system ensuring occupant retention.

I definitely am a fan of turbocharged and supercharged vehicles, however, I am not a fan of unnecessary showmanship. I can never understand the point in having intercoolers blatantly obvious in the front fascia. It is like saying, "My dick is bigger than yours." Totally pointless. Only the people who are afraid that they have a little dick need to say this. The guys who are well endowed don't need to tell anyone.

How does this apply here? The whole car gives an air of subtle aggression. It is badass, but not outrageously so. The car has a great stance and slick overall presentation...until you come to the front fascia. Leaving out the lower fascia cover to expose the intercooler just gives the whole package a cheesy flavour.

Despite that, a nice package.

Nuff said,
R

Meh, impressive motor, but the car looks like butt overall. It's just very boring looking, plus the weird, silver poppin out at you look of the IC, and those wheels are not the best design for the stang, they make the stance look really akward.

vcinsanity, you know your sig is bullshit right? 98% of teenagers has smoked pot? I'm sorry but that's just stupid. I'd put it closer to 60%.

This car was in the latest Motor Trend article "Target Z06" along with some other sick tuner muscle cars.

Heres some pictures
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupe/112_0606_sfbts_tuner_vehicle_shootout_photos/

Theres some videos in the multimedia section but they dont work for me. The site is kinda lacking but the article was good.

Yeah the car is ass ugly, the engine is sweet, and it is probably more like 45-50% of pot head teens. 98% cracks me up. We would all be walking around stoned. Yeah did I say that the car was ugly.

I like the fact that its still cheaper than a base Z06 with gobs of HP and torque.

I think this is the best looking tuner mustang I've seen! Yes...They are subtle changes but it works really well...I agree that the IC could use improved placement...
