My trunk release has ceased to work anymore. I already checked the plastic tab and the emergency lever in the trunk and they both work. I think it just needs adjusting but I do not know where to adjust it. If someone could take a pic and maybe point a finger to where it is then I can figure it out from there.

I'm confused. What trunk release? Mine didn't have a release in the car or on the key fob. I had to use a key. Can you be more specific?

i had the same problem, on the actual lock in inside the trunk, there a little lever, i think its black, have you tried toggling that? I actually took it to the dealer because of that, and felt kinda stupid...:)

if that doesnt fix it you're going to have to move the carpet apart and trace the line.

i pretty much guarantee thats its that little lever on the trunk release part if you can open it with the key then it should work mine does it every now and then, it locks and my trunk release switch doesn't work.

my old american ford probe had the same problem, but it was built by mazda...so it figures...every month or so, it would lock itself, no reason why...or at least i haven't figured it out..and it already happened twice on the speed

Ha! That's too funny. I had the same problem. Who'd have thought a stupid little lever on the main part of the trunk lock would have anything to do with it. I had my carpet pulled up the other day to check the cable. Weird. My little select switch was actually yellow just as a point of reference, so it may vary between either the black mentioned above or the yellow that mine has. I found mine in the up position (or closest to the top of the trunk) before pushing it back down ... and viola ... the remote release works again. Thanks guys. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that's had this problem.
