Has anyone installed a suicide door kit on there 3? If so do you like it?
I've been debating on this for a few weeks now and not sure if its a good idea or not.

Second, if anyone has shaved there door handles, how much $$ did it run you? again not sure if i really want to do this or not.

no offense but why do you want to put suicide doors on a 4 door sedan? I mean on some cars, like lambos, it works. I work at a bmw dealer and when they come in here and have suicide doors, i dont even like it then, but a 4 door mazda sedan?

i think you are thinking about scissor doors.... suicide is when the door opens from the other end. (the b pillar) suicide doors if i am not mistaken were always on the rear of a 4 door sedan back in the day...

most people combo the Lambo doors with the sui doors in back... I haven't seen it on a 3 though

I know of one guy who shaved his door handles. No idea about any details but I have a picture! :)

Just fyi, you can't drag race or auto-x if you have shaved handles.

I have a friend who had suicide doors on his 01 eclipse. yeah, the motor or a fuse was busted and he couldn't open his doors. I think he said he had to go through his trunk :P

well if they installed everything right, you should be able to get in and out without a motor. they are SUPPOSED to have a popper, under the wheel well or something, where the person knows. and that is a manual popper..

My goal as far as looks are concerned is something uniquely my own. I don't want any fast and furious crap, i think thats stupid. A friend made the suggestion to me and i thought i'd bounce it off of you guys. see what ya think about it.

And boostdprotegelx is right there should be a button underneith the car that is a manual release if the doors are unlocked. I am not entirely sure of everything thats involved with shaving door handles and i have called a few people around here without any luck.

Goldwing - why can't i do that. not that i will or want to right now but does it really matter? And that looks good, do you know how much it cost him to shave the handles? I race karts so i don't see my self doing that but just in case.

Thanks for the input everyone

Because emergency crews can't open your doors if you get into a wreck.

I have no idea how much it cost him. Like I said, "No idea about any details but..."

I think he was over on ************.

makes sense, anyway i found a guy who will do all 4 + wireing for $400. Sounds like a deal to me. I'll have to think about it. But thanks for the input.

I think he was talking about shaving handles. That shouldn't cost $2k.
It should cost more than $400, though. Unless you have a hook-up.

yes i was talking about the shaved door handles

and the name of the place is Angel's Customs. They told me $400 for shaved handles + wireing. If any of you want the phone number let me know. They're on Rt. 13 outside of NE Philly
