Yeah the Polished Lip on Black rims is Hot, but those rims were just badly done. Horrible spokes, ugly rivits, and no depth to the rims at all.

Im sitting on 225/45/17 as you may well know THEY DONT FIT, and I got to live with the occasional rubbing untill I get a set of 205/40/17's. ONLY THEN will I get a Drop.

There's just not enough black currently on your car (despite the color of the car itself) for those wheels to seem perfect IMO. Perhaps it's just the picture with so many reflections in the black paint making it seem more greyish. The wheels don't look bad, they just don't look perfect.

I think if you had some limo tint the wheels would probably fit the car a lot better. Get the tint & take a pic of your car with the windows up.

Wow... I didn't realize you were going to cry. Chrome stands out a little at least, and it doesn't look dirty (unless the owner can't clean them, besides who says the rims have to be colored? This wasn't an attack at you, so please get a tissue, regroup, and return to this thread with a little more composure. BTW, the black five door is looking a little better now.

I like the idea but the spokes are too crazy for me. Simple strait spokes are better, looks classy. I have the Motegi FF-7 Gloss black on my white hatch. Not exactly what I wanted but the price was right and this style looks good with the 5% tint, if you are into that sort of thing. Don't get the all black ones. They are sweet standing still but when you are moving they look like you haven’t taken off you winter tires yet. I don’t like yours Rac3rX, I would have gone with gunmetal or something. Black wheels just don’t fly on anything besides black or white. All that’s important is that you like them, the damn sales guy at the Mazda Speed dealer told me flat out that he hated mine this weekend. I didn’t even ask his opinion. Haha, I didn’t take his card for when the Mazda3 MPS arrives either, haha.

You know what? You are right! I was completely off. After looking at that pic of your car again, I realized those are in fact gunmetal rims and I was wrong about the color. OOPS…Congratulations on the near celebrity status driving you car has awarded you. Obviously you are very…very…very proud. I’m just glad those rims are on your car and not mine. I agree that most chrome rims suck because they are heavy and poorly done. Watch out for all the top companies making chrome looking rims that are light weight. Mine are actually lighter than stock even though they are 18's.

i have a wheel gap problem just like many 2nd geners do when they add bigger wheels. Out of the forum I need the drop the most but I am not going to because my kit sits low already and I need a minimum 2" drop and I will still have space. So it is not worth it to me. And yes I have chrome unfortunately chrome doesn't like Chicago winters. Black/chrome/powdercoat everything is played out because everyone copies one another. The trick is trying to be unique and grabbing a set of new wheels before others follow the trend and before you know it everyone has them anyways. It is what goes good with your car, its style, and it paint scheme. Simple as that.

P.S. RacerX I am only allowed to give shit to Jose. I didn't see anything wrong with what he said. Jose is very mellow so relax bro and like mp3architect said leave the thread because your shit is boring now. You have nothing further to add to this thread and everthing you have added is garbage.

Back to the subject of the first car, the real reason we are here, I am not a big fan of all black wheels but lately I have been looking at some for my car. I think they look good on a white car. I do agree with the statement made that they look good sitting still, not when driving. Nice design though, I like straighter spokes myself but those do look good.

The thing I don't like about your's rac3rx, They remind me of a set of old whitewalls on some of the older cars that have been rebuilt. Also some cops have dark wheels and the ring on the outside of their crown victorias. Just not a fan of that style. I do like your signature pic though, looks good. Just below that though it says "controle your zoom". Just wondering what that means, that a different language? Just curious.

whatever i get, they have to be basically the same size so i don't have to spend even more for tires - just got 2 new ones replaced under road hazard warranty

and other than that, my $ needs to go to making more power, and getting that power through the atx

which means an F2 intake (anyone wanna buy my aem?), a rx8 maf, and a "thingy" to go between the maf and the ecu (on the m**************** site), and then when it becomes available, a full block-to-bumper exhaust from draxxas ('05 won't fit '06 with pzev, which apparently i have)

then, i need to dump 1500 into an lsd, and upgrade the torq. conv. and valve bodies - that's another G

by that time, a better intake mani should be put on

THEN i can think about wheels again (ughdance)

i was asking about the set on the 1st post, cuz it looked like a really good deal and i could have put plans back a bit by getting them now
but since i won't, off we go with the plan as it was
