If you have a MS6 or a standard 6... And you've added guages of any-kind... Please post pictures here... Myself.. and a few others have been looking for a good setup... locations.. and such.... as you know.. the MS6.. and 6.. don't have many options... before you start bringing the stylish interior down....

Aren't the vents round? Maybe pop a gauge in there. I've seen it done with the vent to the left of the steering wheel on the NB (second gen) Miatas, it looked really cool. The MS6 doesn't come with a boost gauge does it.

One post.. not bad.... I'd like to see other ideas... I have a plan for my center vent.... i'll be posting pictures once I complete it.... has nothing to do with guages however....
That being said... no one else has anything yet? I've been considering mounting them on the steering column... However i'm not sure it's the look i'm going for.... No big rush I suppose... It would be nice to know whats going on with my car.... Specially when i'm racing...
I've noticed that when i take off... shifting into 3rd I tend to get a rough boost build up.. almost like its venting or.... timing is off.... Boost guage would help show whats goin on...

Few questions for spool!
1) Why are your keys in the ignition? Do you not like the keyless start system? Seems like quite a waste O.o. Anyway....
2) Whats the digi-display down by your keys for? Can't make it out from the picture.... i'd could toss out some guessing.. but .. .easier just to ask =)

Xtreme,
1) I didnt feel like shelling out a few extra thousand dollars for the keyless start and other goodies in that package, dont like the cell phone size key pad.
2) Yes, that is a greddy turbo timer.
3) The boost gauge pod that I have fits best in my opinion...You dont have to take out the extra vent bc it does get hot in the summer time and all the vents for the AC would be nice.
4) Why is it that in every post ive seen of yours you talk smack in some form or fashion.
Alot of us haven't found a use for that center vent. Some use it to warm the shifter knob. Another place us non speed 6ers placed the pod was the center of the dash where navi would go. there is a 3 gauge pod floating around for the mazda 6. second I find a local vender I'll share the info :) (Pict Borrowed from blackmajic)

Have nav so can't do that... but looks good .... Similar to the 350z guages...
As for Mr. Spool-n-up... I'm not exactly sure where the smack talk is... Watch some top-gear or... rap video's and you'll understand where i'm comming from... They have a section dedicated to "special" cars... that people have ruined.... Honestly doesn't take much.. any exhaust/chop shop will throw 8" muffler tips on your ride...
This doesn't apply to you... However i'll be honest with people... and when they start to ruin their cars... and they are posting pictures / asking for opinions I give it....
The truth hurts... and, well... most people can't handle it... If and when I post any pictures or questions.. I expect people to be completely honest with me... if they think something i've done looks like trash... I'd like to hear about it.. and why... Maybe I'll get ideas to fix it up...
But this is now completely off topic.... Starting to get guage shots... which was why this thread started.... So lets keep it going.... if you want to bad-mouth someone on the forums they have general sections and PM's for that....

I don't think he was asking you for your opinion about his keys or lack of keyless start.
In fact, I believe he was one of the few people helping you and posted a pic of his gauges.

Good thing I never gave my opinion on his keyless.... I asked a question... Every single speed6 in the state of oregon.. and cali... that I saw... probably 20 of them at least.. had the keyless entry system... I assumed it was standard...
I know others have had issues with their keyless systems... figured he might be as well... and I would have linked the post with tips on getting it to work better...
So... re-reading my posts... for a 3rd time... I see that I made no comments about his picture or car... just asking if more people had pictures... and another post asking two questions ... one about his.. what I thought was standard keyless entry setup until now... and two about his turbo timer...

Actually the picture does no justice at all, its kinda one dementional. You can see the temp to the left once your in the drivers seat. The only thing you really cant see is 0-700 RPMs, that was no biggie in my mind.

Yeah, that looks pretty good, do you have any daytime shots? What kind of gauge is that? It matches pretty well.
The DEFI BF gauge matches perfect, but 200+ for the gauge and another 150 or so for the link controller is a bit too steep.

The gauge is a 45mm Omori Boost Gauge. It has a multi color back light (blue, green, red) fine tune the colors and you can match the MS6's lights....
here are some pics of different color...

Well, the air form the back stills go through where the grille holes are, I intended to do that so that I still get air from it for my back seat passengers. and the wires were easy to install and route. once you take off the center console for the head unit, you can see that there is a path that goes straight down and you can use the same route to where all the wires are right beneath your fuse box outside to your BOV ( that's for the hose that attaches to the BOV) and the rest of the wires I used the wires that connected before the head unit. I'll try to get some pics, cause I'll be adding more stuff to my car again, so once I mess with it again I'll post some "How to" pics.

I have been wondering what to do about this myself with this car.
In my protege I had the full pillar pod and the custom cluster for holding 5 round gauges. I added a digital EGT because I had no clean place to put another round gauge.
I love the Defi BF gauges, but the cost is prohibitive and the lack of clean places to put gauges in the 6 is a problem. This time around I am looking at a Boost gauge and maybe a wideband and EGT eventually if I do start to mod it more heavily, but everything else will likely be passed on.
With that said, the Omori is at the top of my list for it's small size and convenient mounting location. Also on my list is this handy gauge which is going to be very flexible when it comes to mounting:
http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=131
I had their Digital EGT and was very happy with it. I am just not sure if I want a digital boost gauge, it's not as easy to read as a traditional dial.

You can get a round gauge and mount and mount it to the drivers side defrost vent on the dash. The vent just pops off, I zip tied mine there until I get more gauges to fille the tripple pod that goes on teh map compartment. When I finish painting the gauge cup, I'll post a pic of it.

Yes, all the gauges need to be connected to the controller. But the good thing is only one wire from the controller to the first gauge, then the rest just connected like a daisy chain, really convenient if adding more gauges at the later day.

Here's mine. If you follow the how to remove the center console how-to, the rest is very straight forward.
The hardest part was getting the vacuum hose through the rubber wire harness grommet. I had to use a sharp knitting needle and taped a string to the end so, I could pull the vacuum hose from the engine compartment.
Power was limited to the night lighting as I am using a mechanical boost gauge. So I just tapped into the cigarette lighter night light.:)

Best so far IMO is the triple pod on the dash compartment.
Prsport also sell gauges similar in color to our dash.
Many STi guys would use them. Very simialr to Defi in color and opening ceremony, but no control unit necessary. That will save some bucks!
Nice work to all....
