Well, it's gone.........traded in my MSP and got an......MS6!! White sport model, was looking at the GT but wasn't digging the stock leather so decided to get the sport and go aftermarket leather like I did the MSP. I'll miss it, (and no I didn't get much for it, but I got a pretty good deal on the six to offset the negative equity, $25,990). Well at least I get to stay in the Mazda family, I was considering others but I kept going back to the MS6, it has the best of both worlds, I think. Performance and refinement, drives like a dream although I only have 170 miles on it so far. Sorry no pics. my digi-cam broke (I dropped it). But you guys know what a stock white MS6 looks like anyway.....I'll start posting pics once the modding starts, I already have plans, but I need for the aftermarket to build up first (at least I hope it will). Anywho, just thought I'd check in and let you guys know....as if you cared. lol. Thanks.

how is the performance compared to your MSP with upgrades?

I am trying not to push the 6 too hard right now, but I'd be lying if I said that I haven't played at least a little bit. It definitely has some serious thrust off the line, but it FEELS a little slower than my MSP was, but definitely smoother, more refined, and quieter. I definitelt prefer having the VDC off though, you can definitely feel a difference. Anyway as I was saying, I think it feels slowere but I think it may be pretty darn close. You dont feel the speed as much in the six because the power band is so linear, it reminds me alot of what my 350z used to feel like, lots of torque available and easy highway passing, the MSP was more buzzy and quirky and you could really feel when the turbo kicked in. They are different kinds of fast and equally fun so far, but in very different ways.......this may change after some mods though..... The one complaint I have of the six so far is the finicky clutch ( I'm getting used to it though) and the fact that the revs mount up so quickly, especially in first and second, its really easy to hit the limiter if you are not careful..........

congrats on the new car. i always liked your msp. What plans do you have for the MS6? Are you going to sell parts from the msp to get parts for the MS6?

Trust me, it is NOT slower. I have a fairy decently modded MSP AND the MS6. The MSP would get raped by the MS6...without Vaseline. The MSP has a more visceral feel to it so you are more aware of the engine noise, but the MS6 just gets the job done....in a damn hurry. Wait until you have broken her in and then revisit this thread. As much as I love my MSP it plays junior to the MS6 heavyweight.

100 octane gas + stock mazdaspeed6 = 13 second quarter miles

mS6 is a very nice car.
Once you mod it, it won't feel slower. It's just like any "big-body".

It doesnt feel that fast, especially to the driver..but just watch how quickly the cars in the rear-view get farther and farther behind you.

Damn I miss that BRAND, brand, brand ...new-car smell.

I got a v6 3.5 altima so i can relate to the "not feeling so fast, but is fast" syndrome.

I only have 170 miles on it so far. .

That there's some restraint. I got mine on 5/1 and it has 900 miles on it so far. 400 by the third day.

I have to admit I wasn't that impressed with the MS6 when I first heard about them but I took one for a test drive which turned into a street race against a modded WRX (the sales guy was VERY liberal). Needless to say the MS6 took the WRX by 3 cars lengths from a dead stop.

Leonardo where did you get your car at? I haggled with Ingrampark about 2mos ago since a friend referred me there. Dude was over aggressive and bothered me for weeks so that turned me off. He was dying to get my MSP in since he knew I was positive on it. Ric from Racingmazda told me a couple of weeks to try Northpark. Thats who he has been dealing with for years so Im trying them. Worldcar, nahhh bought the MSP there years back and the only way Ill go back is if that girl from the commercial sells me the car :) But let me know

I got my car at Ingram Park, although I have heard a lot of good things about North Park, it's just too far from where I live.

Yeah same here, its like IPAC is 10mins away and NP is double that or more. We will see since the wheeling and dealing wont start until June when I get back from Hawaii. I would like to sell the car privately instead of a trade-in though. Did they lowball you there?
