Hello

2003 Protege ES

Does anyone know where i can get windshield washer nozzles that mount on the wiper blades, versus what i have now, which is mounted on the hood.

I know its pretty minor, but its rather annoying.

Anyone help is appreciated. I have tried different types that mount on the hood and nothing works correctly.

Youll have 2 holes in your hood.

JUst pull them off a car that has them. (ive never seen it)

The stock ones didn't work correctly? They are pretty cheap to replace from the dealership or onlinemazdaparts.com

Welcome to the forums!

I wanted wiper-mounted ones when I had my CF hood for about a year but never got around to researching it enough before I went back to a stock hood.

i have a good trick for you,i bought some sprayers for a 2005/06 mazda tribute,12$ each, fit in directly, and its not two sprays, its one hole, but it shoots a full stream on the windshield, its amazing how great they now work, even at highway speeds, the windshield gets clean, many friends of mine did the mod,and theyre all really satisfied,it took 3 days for the order to arrive at mazda s ....(first)

Interesting.
The only problem I can see with that is that the washers that shoot the full wave cover everything. IE no holes to look out of. I prefer our small dots, besides when properly aimed they do a good job. + I use rainx washerfluid works really well.

hahahahaa, its not grease coming out of the washers, its windshield washer liquid, and the pressure is not 200 psi,its a stream, not a shower,if you cant see true that, you must have a hard time driving in rainy condition....(kidding)

and yes i use rain x to,its a good product to have.....

and another good thing about this mod,you need less liquid to clean the windshield.....

So instead of two squirters on the hood, you only have one? Where did you get the sprayers from? Have any pics of what it looks like? Im kinda confused a bit......

I hate our single stream crap, my girlfriend drives a 06 Mustang and its got the spray haze thing that reaches the whole windshield and I love that. My windshield always looks bad after using my wipers and spray. Can't we just go out to pep boys or autozone and get a set from them? or is the latching thing different?

i have two sprayers, one on each side, like the oem,but instead of having two jets coming out of the sprayer, its a unique jet coming out,but its a full stream,i got them them at mazda directly, you simply have to ask for the sprayers of the mazda tribute...they cost around 10-12$ each, you put them in your existing holes, they clip in it,and your done, like oem,and much more effective....

instead of two straight sprays on each side, you will have 1 full stream covering all the windshield on each side....i ll try to get a picture if u need, but its raining like hell right know, have to wait till it stop....

Wiper mounted sprayers are shit. Pontiacs and whatnot have them and they dont work well at all (IMO)

that i agree!!!!!its the same on the dodge caravan, and god i hate thoses things, its sprays more on the side of the car than on the windshield, the clips break, the hoses break, the only thing its good for,its to make people pissed....(pissed)

patmaz, is the washer pump strong enough to cover the entire windshield with the Tribute nozzles?

yes sir easily, really worth it....its sprays about 3 inches form the bottom end of the widshield, and to approx 2 inches form the top end of the windshield, and for the sides, well its sprays in a V spray pattern,so it covers almost everything you need,i love it...

i found that by making the experience myself,my father in law bought a brand new 2005 mazda tribute last year, and when i saw the washers work,i tought, why woudnt i try to get those for my little one(protege),so i called my dealership, ordered 2 tribute sprayers, and got them...

it took me about 10 min to get them in place, the longest part is to get the kind of cardboard off the underside of the hood, took off the oem ones, clip the new ones in places, and tryed it....WOOOOWWWWW

even at highway speeds, its fantastic,.....i really like them....

i think i might give this a shot. it sounds like an awesome cheap mod.

when my bought my car someone had fucked up the nozzles, so two spray onto my windshield, one sprays onto the hood, and one sprays people next to me on the passanger side.

came in handy in the city for spraying people on the sidewalk. but i want my windshield clean.

go for it man,you wont regret it,anyways, for around 20$what can you loose,if i had to do it again,i d spend much more money to get that result, its really a cheap mod that makes driving more secure, and you save a lot of windshield washer fluid, because it takes less fluid to get the job done the first time you spray............

If I'm reading this right, doesn't this mod leave you with an un-used sprayer?

There's 2 sprayers the Protege... are you saying replace both of them wit hthe tribute's V-sprayers?

Kansei
04-07-2007, 09:03 PM
Yeah you replace them both.

I have sprayers that mount to the wiper arms but I don't like them, so I'm going to mod them and mount them in the wiper cowl so they're totally stealth.

that'd be cool...I think the ms6 nozzles are in the cowl
