Team,
Just got the car back today from R&B Custom Auto Body in Philly, PA (www.rbcustomauto.com). The paint job is PERFECT, these guys are the shit!!! The color is BASF Verde Ithaca (Lime with Yellowish Gold Pearl). This BASF paint is 3 stage so you have to know what you are doing to make it come out right and Bumpka at R&B nailed it! I drove home from Philly back to my house in York, PA (1.5hr) with NO PROBLEMS! Car looks just sick in person and took by a Mazda dealer on the way home and they where flipping out and LOVED it. Here are the shots you guys and gals have been looking for, and I finally have my car close to being complete.

Nice, you can fit some nice deep wheels with that kit, though it makes the front view look kinda funky. I bet it looks sweet from behind though.

So, because my race car has Mazdaspeed stickers on it, you probably don't like that either because it's not a Mazdaspeed.... You do know that Mazdaspeed is more than just a trim level on a car, right?

I was really looking forward to see the results and.... im a little dissapointed. I love the idea of the wide body, and i think they look great but i dont like how it was done in this car. Maybe its the color that doesnt help it. The front looks a little funky, i think they could have done better with the front bumper, maybe find a better way to integrate it with the flares.
I think the color needs a little more shine to it, looks a little dull in the pictures, but is unique and it looks cool.
I also think i would have liked it better with Hyperblack rims with a nice polished lip and defintiely a different design.

well, you own an msp, right? So that is a little different than this case.
And of course I know that Mazdaspeed is more than a trim level, thats why I dont like the sticker. That came out a bit rude in my original post, but I just think that car is gross. Thats all

I like the body kit, maybe a bit much for my tastes but I think it looks good. The colour is great too. I would have choosen different wheels. But too each his own, if you like it then thats all that matters. I don't know about the rest of you, but I just moved to Saskatoon, and everybody and his old grandma seems to be driving a 3 now, so you need some flash and dash just to find your car in the parking lot.

you're a honda emblem, vtech sticker, and huge wing short of a ricer. also, you don't drive a mazdaspeed, no reason to have a mazdaspeed decal.
HAHAHAHA. WTF PEOPLE. just because he has a mazdaspeed decal on his windshield does not indicate that his car is made by mazdaspeed. MAZDASPEED is not only a car, they are a parts maker. they don't just make MAZDASPEED only cars. they make parts that you can buy individually. get it straight.

So by your thinking smurf I cant have a mazdaspeed vinyl graphic on my TGM3 even after I have installed Mazdaspeed short shifter, pedals, exhaust, struts and springs??
Its just like installing STi parts on a Subaru. They're not only a trim level but also a parts supplier for the brand. If Brian has any MazdaSpeed parts on his ride and wants to advertise them then more power to him...
His ride may not be to everyones liking but it gives the car exposure and hopefully more aftermarket mfgs will take notice and build parts for our car....
(getting off soapbox now)
you're a ricer if you think mazdaspeed is just a special edition mazda.
btw, i like the car. i think i would've gone with a more aggressive front bumper though to compliment the wide body. and maybe different rims that will compliment the color. the BASF paint reminds me of the mazdaspeed strut color

I don't own an MSP... I own a Protege5, and an 85 RX-7.... Both the P5 AND the RX-7 have Mazdaspeed decals... Why? because I love what Mazdaspeed(formerly Mazda Motorsports) does to support Grassroots motorsports. The parts development and technical support is above and beyond what I have seen from any other car manufacturer. The only car company I've seen put forth as big an effort is MINI.....

i dont like it, sorry...i actually do like the color i think odd colors are more fun on cars and they look hot most of the time. but the kit for some reason just doesnt seem to flow right. there are a lot of lines and what not in it and it just seems to throw me off. other wise i still give you props on completing it and working as hard as you did, but with every job it takes time and a few trys sometimes. ill give you the A for effort. ok enough cheesy lines...lol

hahaha..so you know the deal. When Mazda USA sent me the car, it had the stickers on them, I didn't put them on and they will be coming off. It isn't a MazdaSpeed, never will be, and I don't want to claim it is. The bottom line, I made the car extreme to show people what you can do to the car. It all comes down to marketing and that is why Mazda hired me, because I know what I am doing. This will show someone who drive's a beat ass GM car how cool a Mazda could look, or at least give them some imperation to build their own Mazda and show their own personal style. The Mazda 3 has great style from the factory or we all wouldn't be driving them right? This is just want I think this car should look like with a kick in the ass so to speak. This car has function, you can drive it every day as I am doing now, put my 1 year old in her baby seat in the back, have some sex in the back seat, whatever you wish..haha. This car kicks ass, I LOVE it!!! Mazda makes a great car, no doubt about it and I will continue to own one for sure. Not done with this car yet, but I will be in due time. I have invested a ton of money in it, it is for me, and that is why you build a car right? Magazine's are knocking down my doors wanting to shoot this car, which is cool and represents all of us who have a 3. That is what I want to do, get other into hooking their cars up to and taking them to major shows and kicking ass. I never see any hooked up 3's at shows, lets get with it. Damn SCION's are everywhere and hooked up, lets represent!!!!

Definitely an awesome kit and love the color. The only thing that i could say that would help the appearance of the kit is to mold the kit together into one piece so there are no gaps and also mold it to the car i think that would really help it out. The rims are nice also those are the only chrome rims ive ever liked.

Kit just doesn't flow with the car. Flares are too extreme.
But nice work, will be hell of a show car.
I think it would look very sexy on a sedan ... in white, limo tint, black w polish lip wheels, boosted w a huge front mount...... how I picture it.

I totally agree with fox's train of thought on getting some flashy 3's out. Its only going to make people realize you can mod 3's and with that following will come more choices in other aftermarket parts.

Sorry dude, u r SO wrong about that, IMO ofc.(enguard)
I don't sport any decals myself, but I like it when done tastefully.
I think it looks REALLY good.
I also agree with Lt Dan, I'm in the Mazdaspeed Motorsports program myself. I think that Mazda's commitment to the enthusiast is what makes them unique.
There was an article in a recent Autoweek about this.

What I like:
The color because it's my favorite color how bout some pics of the pearl
The wheels but for the sake of my respect they better not be rubbing on some fenders behind those fattys
What I don't like:
Mostly the kit, not the way it looks I like that, it has too many pieces. The whole kit can be made in just three pieces that way you aren't adding unnecessary body seams. The one behind the rear door is the one that is wierd to me.
