Damn well im sure you can fight about the cold air intake there was a law passed that says if a car is modded as long as the modifications are not directly responsible for the part of the vehicle that failed it should be covered i forget the name of the law but search for it and you should mention it to the dealer and then see what the say. I guarantee if you took out your CAI and bov the dealer would have covered it balled tires?? Maybe they should put something that has better treadwear then the damn stock Potenza's that get like 10,000 miles then they are shot. Best of Luck

take off the CAI and put the stock airbox back on, get rid of the BOV, and go to a different dealer

If I was to do that I would need a set of stock intercoolerpipes

Is the law the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act?

Yes thats the name of the law....print it out and take it to them. They probably told you that they had a Mazdaspeed tech in to look at it as well (thats what they told me). Next they are going to say if you get some work done they will do it for you. Dealerships....

Sorry to say, but you took your car to the dealer with mods on it. They won't warranty it. You might as well suck it up at this point and pay it. They can just put in the system that you've modded your car, so you take it to another dealer they might not help either.

It can't hurt to try. We all know that the factory LSD is weak and should have been recalled. I hit my dealer with a mountain of evidence about the number of documented LSD failures and they covered it. My car had a BOV and MBC on it at the time, too. When they bitched about those I said, "Well, it wasn't a problem for the Mazdaspeed dealer who sold me the car with those installed. I didn't put them there. Not my problem."

PM me if you like, and I'll try and help you out. Even if you were running it hard, that should be covered. If the dealer bitches about that, remind them that you were just "Zoom-Zooming in your MazdaSPEED" just like they tell buyers to do. :)

Wow That totally sucks ASS!!! Dude When mine went, I took it to a known Dealer that actually Sponsors our Car Club in T.O and they told me what was wrong and Fixed it! I asked the Service Manager if I shoudl get the new welded first before they install it and he said no!!!

I asked why? He said "dude, you got the Extended Warranty up to 160 000 km. If and when it breaks again jsut bring it back!!! And probably by then you'll need a new clutch to!!! so your killing 2 birds with one Stone!!"

I was really impressed and our Club here alwyas go to them!!!

But I thought the Rule of Thumb for Modded Cars are if the problem was caused by the Mod then its not covered!!! otherwise it is........
