Mod'ing stock intake manifold

I have recently purchased a spare intake manifold for my msp and i will be testing my port and polishing skills

There are 2 sets of butterfly valves in there are these absolutely necessary will i have idle problems or will i lean out the motor by removing them?

Has anyone removed those butterfly valves in the stock intake?

What are the results?

i would appreciate any input on this thanks

what year is the spare intake manifold?

If it's 2002/2003 it'll have butterfly valves for VICS and VTCS.
