View Full Version : wrx inectors with stock ecu
Hi I was just wondering if there is anyone who is or did run the wrx 440cc with no fuel management and wat issues did they have?
I have searched and read a lot of threads. Most people who have the wrx 440cc injectors are running some sort of fuel management. And I understand that it is neccessary, but i was just wondering if anyone has done without fuel management.
thanks.

Ill tell you off the bat, you will need something because if not your car will run extremely rich... i put them in on the unichip and the car was running so rich on the dyno it was off the charts... at the moment its still running a little rough at idle and you can smell it rich lol ... seems to sputter as if its going to stall at idle but never does and also when you are going into first gear you have to give it much more throttle for it to go into first or it will stall... happened to me right after it got off the dyno, i was getting ready to leave and i stalled it.

You can't throw in bigger injectors w/ out comp'ing for them.
You will need some sort of electronic fuel controller.

could you run them with DSM's AFC ? also if you can what are the benifits of it?

Something like that should work.....
If you don't need more fuel then you don't need a bigger injector. Substantial power can be made with the stock injectors however. Substantial in regard to what these engines can safely hold I mean of course.

the AFC can run them...have a few maps in the library...no real benefits under stock condition...has HPF said the stock injectors are more than capable of handling fuel delivery for the stock motor/turbo potential...i'd only consider the wrx upgrade if you're running a gt28 or bigger at 10psi and higher boost levels.
what if i plan on getting this setup in the future:
CAI, FMIC, spipe + vibrant exhaust, intake manifold, and unichip. do you think i'll need injectors? i'm just making my list of to buy things, and i was just curious. [/end threadjack]
