please help about this "Purge Solenoid Valve"

Just wonder if this "Purge Solenoid Valve" is supposed to be making an intermediate tapping sound?

For those of you who are not sure where this valve is, it is the one mount of the dead top of your OEM IC to throttle body plastic pipe, with 2 vaccum hose coming out from it.

Mine is now ziptie on the strutbar due to having hardpipe. And now the tapping noise has became audiable from the cockpit.

Just wonder if it has always been tapping or the valve is starting to act funny.

I can hear mine sometimes, but not always. Mostly when the car is warm.

i opened my hood last nite and needed to check the coolant level (low for some reason). and i heard this ticking from the purge solenoid valve. it was intermittent though. wasn't consistent. i'm assuming it's normal?
