Heya,
I just noticed something weird today. It feels like the AC is on all the time. The air coming through the vents is always colder than ambient. When I turn the AC on the air does get even colder. It also sounds like it's on even when the indicator says it's off. When idling, I hear the click of the AC unit turning on and the slight drop in RPM.
Is this normal or do I have some messed up electrical glitch?

TIA!

if the air ducks are at the defrost or defrost and floor, the ac is ON automatically, without the need of pressing the AC button...
Mazda did that to help the air flow to be more powerfull and it does with the AC on...
if you select any other position,it will stay OFF unless you press the AC button.....

Ahh, that could be it! I typically leave it on defrost. Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out next time I go for a spin. :)

if u have the circulation on the option showing it coming from outside... the duct are open and the air just flows freely into the car.. if you choose the recirrculate option it shuts off because theres no forc inside ur car forcing it back into the ac system
