How can I safely get rid of the seatbelt light in my 99 protege? I already know putting the belt in will do it.....

cut the seat belt , and plug the seat belt in, it will keep the light off, and make u fly out the window if you get in a wreck...

seriously, ride with the belt.. it was put there for a reason..

well he may be in the same situation as me. i have a 4pt harness that i use so therefore i have no need for the stock belt. unless i just want to be comfortable and be all strapped in. but there is a little clip under the seat, and all you have to do is unplug it.

I see no racing harness in the picture posted, so just put your seatbelt on. I know you didn't want to heart it but oh well, you knew you would. Seatbelts aren't uncomfortable at all. I feel so freakin weird without a seatbelt on, even if I'm in my car when it isn't in motion.

Way more often than not the seatbelt helps though. Good point on it being an old pic though, that's what I'll assume.

so yeah, just unplug the sensor.

I have the stock seats plus I just wanted to know where the sensor was. I didnt need the other neg comments.... Where is the sensor located?

go in the back seat and look under your driver seat, there's a little bundle of wires that is strapped to the seatbelt latch. Follow it down, probably under a flap in the carpetting, and there should be a little plug that you can unplug.

p.s. you should have known that you would get negative comments. I was one of the people to give negative comments, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to give you the information you need, the information just comes with a warning.

if you didn't want any negativity, then you should've posted a prepatory statement stating that you KNOW about driving with the seat belt and you didn't care, blah blah... but you didn't, you simply asked about it and that left things in the open for comments like these

but if you want to drive around and get killed, that's fine because it won't affect a damn thing of my life... your family will think otherwise though

(thumb) your harshness and cynicism is quite appropriate here :)
