Since people don't seem to find this thread I'm posting a link to it here. Please read the following thread before posting any questions about speaker sizes, wiring harnesses, or installation kits!

Any info on the 5? Or will you add relevant info for the 5 when it comes available?

At this point, you know more about it than me. It has 5x7 speakers up front and in the rear correct?

I'm not sure if there is an installation kit for it yet. If I were to guess, I'd say the wiring harness is the same as the Mazda3.

K, I can track down my notes as the wires differ from the Mazda3. I grabbed a post with the 3's wires and they did not match the 5s at all.

5x7 / 6x8s fit in the front, can't personally confirm the rear but it has been said to be the same.

We have no idea what size speakers are in the rear? How about a how-to for speaker installation?

Here is a link to a dude who removed his Mazda3 door panel to install speakers. I would assume the Mazda5 is very similar.

I'm 99% sure they are 5x7 again just like the Mazda3...but I don't have a Mazda5 so only someone who takes the door panels off themselves can verify that.

5x7/6x8 front and rear. The harness is the same as the mazda3.Just did complete system. 4 spkers,(the rear spks where the hardest to do , had to remove the last row seating to get the rear panels off) 5 channel amp, custom made fiberglass mounting kit for a flipout 7" screen, back up camara and navagation and a single 12" sub . Got an 06 Platinum M5 love it except for the paint problem (very thin). Will post pics as soon as the navi goes in.

Please post pics, or steps for the speaker installation, I'm going to upgrade the stock locations for some improved bass, maybe a sub.

Has anyone changed the front door speakers in their MZ5 yet? I'm lookin' around at the moment for some upgrade speakers to improve sound quality in my new MZ5. I guess I should go with the 6x8 inch speaker size.

How deep (inch/mm) are the original speakers? Some pictures of how to remove the door panel on a Mazda 5 would be great. If you don't have any pictures but did remove the panel by yourself, please tell me if there is something special to pay attention to. Don't want to break anything on my 4 days "old" car.

I'll measure the OEM speakers when I get home, they're in a box somewhere.

Thanks! Think I've seen that thread before. So starlightmica, you have replaced the front speaker in your MZ5? What speaker did you put in and how does it sound? Was it hard to remove the door panel?

Concerning the sound - I just want to add some more bass. Otherwise the sound system sounds good enough for me.

Sorry for all the questions...

Polk Adio DB570 or Infinity 6822CF?

i bought 2 pairs of 6x8 speakers, 1 infinity 6822cf and 1 polk audio db571, for those who know these speakers, wich one should i install in front and wich one in the back and should i disconnect the original tweeters? ? I planned to install them this week end and i bought 2 pairs of speaker conectors because i don't want to cut the wires and i want a clean job. I also want to know if the speakers locations are insulated or if they have a kind of compartment for bass reflexion cause even with the original speakers, the sound is good and there is a good bass. This should be step 1 of my audio upgrade, the car is brand new, cost a lot... and step 2 should be a re-q with a 4 channel amps and a small hidden or under the seat sub. So, finally, where should i install each pair of speakers?

Thanks in advance for your advices.

#1 I swear I looked for this question in all three threads...

However does anyone have the Mazda Premacy color code / wire key code for the stock harness?

----------- side note / question ------------
#.5

In case someone can answer the question here, I'm going to start a new thread on the Crime Guard 750i5 security system and how hard it'll be to wire it into my Premacy.

Crime Guard 750i5 (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_514CG750I5/Crime-Guard-750i5.html?search=alarm)

I've been told the Premacy is NOT wired the same as the M5 is. (protest)

But, I'm going to give it a try... (peep)

let me know if anyone has these answers ,,, keep me from posting another thread.

Thanks,
Peace!(rei)
