damn too bad I'm 215/40/17, which is 138 or 144 depending on th espeed rating. I would probably rub with 215/45. These are the tires I wanted to get next too, and I'm needing new tires soon argh.

there's a shipping estimator
they're possibly the best max summer tire out there. they won a car and driver test of like 14 tires last year. awesome in wet, solid in dry, and you cant beat that price...makes me wish the tires on my MSP rims were bald!

Shipping on Tirerack is 40-50 dollars, and depending on where you live it can be very fast. One location that they ship from is in NJ, and the shipping was overnight to CT.
djp5 I read that same car and driver test, and that sold me on these tires. I currently have the Kumho Ecsta MX which I love but considering they did so poorly in the group of 13 of the best tires out there, I should probably look for something else for when they're worn out.

I saw this sale too and was just going to post about it. I was one click away from getting them before I changed my mind to get the Falken GR Beta FK-451 instead (I got these for $93 each with free shipping). Both tires seem to have comparable wet and dry traction, but the Falken's are lighter :). Were the Falken's in that Car and Driver tire comparison?

Got the GSD3's - thank you Snowman18!!! You da man. I've asked all around and these are THE tires to have.
Oh - and they come with a $40 gift cert on the set as well, and shipping was (well, willya look at that...) $40 for the set, so they came out to $95 shipped, well, sort of, once I "spend" the certificate...

I see this special but it is for the wr's and not the yr's. Is the only diff the speed rating then?
We're not going to exceed either "Y" or "W" anyway...
I've had mine for a few hundred miles, pushed them a bit, great tire. Very progresssive, excellent in rain, and fairly quiet (much quieter than the OE B-stones). Less "thwacky", more muted. They don't tramline as much as the OE tires did even when new - you can tell they're a wide tire for their sidewall so they'll still tramline some, but its more muted. Steering response is good, not *quite* as sharp as OE but definitely well inside in the infield of the same ballpark. Part of that is just that I'm running full-tread rather than almost-at-the-wear-bars, because the sidewalls are definitely stiff enough. Ride is good, slightly more on the "nice" side of firm, but still firm (hope that makes sense!)
No feedback on wear, etc. but I'm extremely pleased with the purchase.

Awsome I bet the wr's ride a little better then the yr's also. Whats the speed rating of wr like 168 i exceded that everyday haha wish my protege would go that fast.

I'm sitting on the fence on these. I have 70% tread left on my Kuhmo 712's. Gonna sleep on it and probably order a set in the morning just to put up until later in the year when I need them. I take it this price is probably not going to last long?

As soon as my rims come in im ordering these I just dont want to till they come in and im sure I have them.
I just ordered a set. 88 each. crazy. Couldn't pass it up. whoever buys my car is going to have nice tires I guess.

I've had mine ever since I rolled 38,115. Currently at 57,000. The still look and ride like new. I prefer them over the OE tires, which were to noisy but gripped well. These tires have not disappointed me yet, wet or dry.
good to know. I got about 20,000kms on my oem tires and I'm down to the wear bars. Friggin noisy. My studs weren't much louder in the winter....not kidding. Looking forward to seeing these on the car. Sexy looking tire.

Just in case anybody is unsure of just how good this deal is, I stopped by my local Goodyear Tire Center this morning for a quote. The numbers he gave me on 215/45/17:
Tire alone, each - $179.95
Set of 4 installed - $818.21
Unbelievable! I'm ordering now.

At tire discounters they wanted in the upper 800's for all 4 not sure if those were the w or y's tho still a insane price. I checked the date on my tires they are 2 yrs old maybe these r old stock but I doubt it matters much if they havnt been out in the weather.
Darn it - now they're $88 each with a whopping $100 rebate on a set. Net cost woulda been about $73 each, SHIPPED! (shipping was $40 to my house near Pittsburgh... you do the math).
Unbelievable! Great tire too.

MAN this is an amazing deal. I've got some yoko AVS E100s right now... the fronts have been on for about 8K miles. Do you think if i bought these tires now and left em in my garage that they'd be okay once its time for a change?? This is just an amazing deal!!

keep them sealed and bagged up and they'd probably be ok. I dunno what the shelf life of tires is.
One problem though, is there a rebate that makes these tires a great deal? I got Bridgestone Potenza RE750s on TireRack when they were on sale and the rebate offer ended 2 days after I got the tires and had them mounted. Bridgestone required proof of tire mounting for all 4 tires to be eligible for the rebate.

the clock starts ticking the day the tires are made. so they actually start dry rotting from day 2. my boss ,who used to run a tire shop, said to keep them in the basement (cool/dry)with a piece of cardboard between the floor and tires. no need to bag each one. and they should be ok. but i guess thats why we got such a good deal. mine are old too according to the dot #.

Had mine for a month now.
Crazy handling in the wet. Unreal really.
Definitely quieter than stock.
Sidewall is not as stiff as stock so the ride is more supple at the expense of precise steering feel. Car tend to wobble side to side a bit I find when I'm doing quick slalom type driving. Not happy about that.
Could be due to full tread too mind you. Time will tell.
Can't beat if for the price though.

The yr's possibly might have a thicker sidewall.
