Its located on the PAss side strut tower. there are 2 solinoid looking things there its the one on the bottom. :D

why are you lookin for the boost solenoid?

why are you lookin for the boost solenoid?
installing my mbc... i had it on but there would be a fuel cut when i tried to boost 8psi... it would cut off right at 8psi... so i need to disable the solenoid so my car will run off the mbc, not the solenoid...

don't go messin with your car if you don't know what you're doing....
all i want is 8psi... im not gonna go crazy wit it... i know ppl running 10psi and it hasn't hurt anything... yet... but he's been running 10psi ever since i had my msp... that was around late summer of 05... still has his msp running 10psi wit a few upgrades... stock motor... there is a limit, over boosting is bad, but the engine was built for a turbo, so it should be able to take 8psi like nothing...
and if my engine blows, it gives me another reason to upgrade... i'm sure i'll purchase the 3k block that comes with everything forged...

The "boost solenoid" on the passengerside strut area is an egr boost sensor/map sensor. It is not boost pressure from the turbo.
The MSP does not have electronically controlled boost pressure, it is purely the spring pressure in the actuator.
I suggest putting the tools down before you hurt your car.

anyway, i'll try to see wat i'll do cuz im buying sooo much shit for my car... i dunno to spend allllll of my money on a whole new block with everything installed or buy all the things around it... like the intercooler, chip, etc etc...
i don't wanna buy the rods and pistons seperatly cuz it'll come out to be almost the same price as having an entire block sent to my door and i'll jus cherry pick it and install it in my car...
still thinkin though, i'm in no hurry... i was also thinking of investing my money to get more in the long run... still thinkin...

No, don`t get a FCD. I was having a little bit of a detonation problem with my Joe P FCD. Just get an AFC. You can get a Split Second PSC1-020 for pretty cheap if you find one used on the forum and you can pop in some 7E plugs and run 10PSI safely.
Get a JoeP FCD....

afc huh... we'll im not boosting past 8psi till i forge my motor... so i'll see into all this stuff cuz i'm debating on boosting alot more now or later...

Ah... you dont need to spend $3000 to boost 8psi. Just tune...

yea i heard bout the fmic helping u boost 2psi more than stock...
but quick question while we're in this topic... will there be a fuel cut if i upgrade to a fmic? cuz its gonna wanna boost to 8psi and its stock right now... or does it stay at stock psi and its can be put to 8psi without worry?

This is the problem that another member close to me was having, he had a shop install an EBC and they disconnected this map sensor. The car ran poor and had a check engine light on.

If you don`t control the boost in any way, the FMIC will not magically make you run 2PSI more. There will be a slight pressure drop once the air hits the other side of the FIMC to go into the intake manifold. BUT, if you do actually hit fuel cut at half throttle or whatever, it will be because the air is colder and more dense. That`s a good thing.

find the 2psi thread or a cheap alternative...its a spring on the actuator....ive been runnin 8psi or 2 years like this with just an intake and exhaust with no problems!
there I wont be lazy with the posthttp://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=105148

If you want to run 8psi safely on the stock motor, but the AFC and either do the spring mod or use a MBC. The AFC is a good investment even if you're running stock boost, and even better if you are running more boost. No need to spend a fortune to get a little more power out of the car. I'm running about 200whp now, and spent about $1000 to do it (exhaust, AFC, and spring mod added to the FMIC and CAI already on the car).

this what I was thinking!!!! of course, I have been running 16psi+, but I'm a dumbass who runs the edge; knowing I may have to build an engine at any moment.

you will need engine management to get rid of fuel cut. our MAF's read 0-5v and when you hit 5v you will get fuel cut.... so you will need engine management to prevent the ecu from seeing 5v in order to defeat fuel cut...

i agree with running ems on stock boost. i also have a dms afc and currently run 6.5psi but my car pulls stronger and safer. i plan on dyno tuning my car and expect to be around 190+ or even 200. With some fine tuning the msp can run real nicely at stock boost.

how the hell are you hitting fuel cut at 8psi with no other mods? Is it uber cold out? Id look into that before upping the boost. Where is your boost gauge reading from? Make sure its tapped on the intake manifold where the how to shows you, if you tapped elsewhere you might not be reading the actual manifold pressure..

my gauge is reading from the intake... it has a t splitter thingy connecting to my bpv...
and it was cold when i tried boosting 8psi...
i plan on leavin it on stock boost at the moment till i upgrade everything around the engine... like the chip, fmic/smic, brakes, manifolds, etc etc...

You need to run it from the top of the intake manifold that's where I've got mine from.
